Pat...if i didnt already kinda dislike you....then this solidifies it... there was one for sale a few months ago over on the island...i almost bought it what ya got there boy is a 62/63...without seeing the grill dude....an axle and SBF as a daily driver would be tooo cool...but...it is a pretty rare(or hard to find) wagon it might almost be a shame to bugger it up ! but i still dont like you PS; i gotta 4 door of the same if ya want it you know where i is
Wow, I'm so unlikable and I don't even have to try. There's no grill with it that I could see but I think the bullseyes on the fenders make it a '62. I could be wrong. I may have to hit you up for parts once I see what I've got. Considering how rare it is I may reconsider altering it and just make it fast and fun.
I bought a 4dr of the same a while ago...caught it before it went to scrap...with 3 sets of doors..3 tails...all the junk to put it back together....except the time and money
Latest Update Just got the old girl home and in the garage. As I was collecting the car the owner came out and told me that there was some extra parts in one of the dilapidated out building. Interesting says I. I foraged through the wet field and removed a small tree that had grown in front of the door to discover my pirate booty. Front and rear bumpers in very good conditions. Near perfect '62 grill and headlight surrounds plus a box of misc and four matching poverty caps. I know you hate me...get over it. It took me over an hour to free up a ceased rear drum but the shoes actually look new and the cylinder isn't weeping. I still want to upgrade to a 5 bolt bolt pattern though so maybe I can sell my 4 bolt goodies. Let the mayhem ensue!!!
I have a feeling this wagon is going to be phenomenal when you get done with it. Can't wait to watch the progress. Good luck. By the way, won't the title say what year it is? Also, the vin would indicate the year as well.
Thanks Snoot, it should be a wild ride and hope to be banging gears by Spring. I'll do another blog probably to document the mayhem. It is confirmed to be a '62 on the title. I haven't run the vin tag yet for other obscurities but the car is badged as a Comet Custom.
Geeze....I'm starting to hate you, too. What a cool find. I'm kinda from the old school with cars that old and that rare. I would like to see it looking rather stock on the exterior & interior. But, I have no such qualms about what's underneath! I love these old wagons that are stock looking sleepers! Good find, PP. You lucky dog. Did I mention that I hate you?
