I still can't pickup the mercury colony park... It is stored in the agent's warehouse in Holland. The seller claims he sent the bill of sale together with the title but the shipper (Schumacher) has never received the bill of sale, the title only. I asked the seller to resend the bill of sale... I can only hope he will do that soon. Once again I am waiting and waiting... What if he won't send it...
Don't worry Ina it'll come. Why wouldn't he send it? It sure is hard waiting isn't it? Hang in there!
Yes, I have proof of the money spent but customs need a bill of sale. Otherwise they will probably do an appraisal and the value of American cars in Europe are much higher than in the US. I have to pay more taxes then...
Have you spoken with the seller by phone or computer? He needs to know how important it is to receive that bill of sale before they do an appraisal on your end. Will customs accept it via computer? Let me know if you have a problem. If needed I can send someone up to get it.
I have asked the seller twice to send the bill of sale. Both times he promised to send it, last time was Friday and he would send it "within a couple of hours". I do not understand why it takes so long. Isn't it just a piece of paper or does it have to be notarized or something? Actually I have never seen a bill of sale. The sellers of the cars I bought in the past always sent the bills of sale to the shipper directly, never had any problems. A copy will do so I told the seller to scan it and send it by email.
Here in Pa. A bill of sale is a piece of paper with a note written by the seller stating the vehicle was purchased you and for how much. It would have the sellers sigmature on it too.
Ontario is the same way. When I bought my wagon the bill of sale was literally a handwritten note. The tax issue is the only reason we need it same as Ina. The seller of mine was kind enough to supply me with two bills of sale, one with the purchase price and one much lower for the tax man. Shhhhh....
Bills of sale can be hand written or official forms. I have printed out four official forms for the kia, 2 for me and 2 for the buyer. I decided to do so because when you're disabled they watch everything you do and they either leave it alone or punish you. And from what I understand both parties have to have a bill of sale because both have to be used for registration (buyer) and transfer (seller). When one doesn't happen it comes to bite some one in the bud. So the seller your CP HAS TO make sure you get the bill of sale.
BoS can also be made by yourself lowering the salesprice CAN be done this way as well so you end up with lower import taxes. BTW: I never did it
Never had an answer from the seller anymore... But indeed there are other ways... So the mercury cp is finally home!
