Hi from Illinois! We have a 1964 Tempest Custom Wagon that has been "under construction" now for about 5 years. Haven't touched it much since the body shop sucked the budget dry, but it will be a nice (finished) car someday! See brief story here: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2487367/1964-pontiac-tempest Kruzn
Hi kruzn, very good lookin´Poncho you have there. Great idea, to brush on all the trim pieces, makes it smooth and easier to clean... What kind of wheels will you be adding?
Welcome Kruzn. Nice to see the exceptional quality work you're doing on that classic Poncho. Keep it up!!
to the wagon train, Kruzn. Nice wagon and EXCELLENT detailed design and work! You're building it your way and it looks great.
Thanks. Probably will use American Torque Thrust wheels with grey spokes. Most likely in 15"...maybe 16". I'm old school and not a big fan of the larger wheels.
Thanks for all the comments. This isn't the first wagon we've had, but it will be the nicest if I ever get it done. We had a '66 Nova wagon many, many years ago. It was pretty ragged with lots o' bondo and a couple hundred thousand miles on the odo, but had a 283 that ran like a clock! At the time it was our winter clunker so our '65 Malibu SS hardtop could stay off the salty roads. That was circa 1976. Don't miss the Nova, but sure wish I'd kept that Malibu.... About 20 years ago we had a '58 Morris Minor Traveller woody wagon. Fun little car but had no guts with it's wimpy 948cc 4-banger. Still, we have fond memories of "Phillip".... When Chrysler announced the PT Cruiser, we knew we had to have one. We bought the 9th car that our dealer got in (the other 8 were already sold). Of course, being a hot rodder I couldn't leave it alone. So, it got 2-tone paint, lowered and some custom interior work. We still have it...love that little wagon. Yeah, I know they call them "cross-overs" or whatever, but it's got a long roof, 4 doors and a tailgate...looks like a small wagon to me! So, I guess that makes us a two-wagon family!
