I keep getting this "notice" ... "Hello wingnut, Our records indicate ... yada yada ... and make your first post." ..... So I guess in order to make that annoying "notice" go away I gotta post. .... so here goes ... I gots a 59 Chevrolet sedan delivery which, I assume everyone knows their wagons, is a two-door station wagon without the side windows .... not to be confused with a panel delivery which is actually a take-off of the pick truck .... a whole different breed. The wagon is still underconstruction but can move under its own power. A 300 hp four-bolt 350 with a 350th trans. I am making the engine appearance into that of a 1959 283 (script valve covers, oil filler, etc) gonna even ground of the lettering on the Edelbrock manifold and paint it chevy orange. 14 inch american mags on the front and 5-slot Ansens on the rear (bigs and littles) .... its a work in progress .... time and money, thats all it needs! I'll mess around and see if I can get some pics to post, bear with me. I also have a 70 chevelle that is crying out for a LS engine out of a wrecked Camaro donor .... just a waiting game on that project ... again, time and money. I also have a 93 Corvette roadster .... just a fun cruise car that is always there when I have the urge to feel some G-forces. I am a 61 year old building contractor living in Northern California, Grew up in Southern Cal and lived the hotrod life of the 60s there ..... and got swept up in the draft, Korea DMZ 70-71. Its all been so much fun! Before you ask, the "Wingnut" name comes from the fact that 59 chevs have wings ( just as some cars have fins) of which I am a nut about. I'll work on the pic posting thang now.
Strange...I thought we already had a wingnut here. Anyway to the wagon train, nut. Yup, we know what a sedan delivery is. Good intro, thanks for finding us and we are looking forward to your pix. And thanks for your service!
well let me be the first to say....bout Time... theres a few 59' owners in here...including this odd kid that i know(stovebolt)...he has 4...he may actually chime in and tell you his tales Wingnut...looking forward to seeing her
test.... Bingo!!! Here is a photoshopped pic of my 59. I was experminting with the colors I had on a 55 chevrolet as a kid, Glacier Blue and India Ivory Or ..... should I go with the competition Orange with Rallye Stripes?? I am thinking blue. This is a shot of pretty much how the car sits today ... engine in, trans good to go, all new brakes and wheel cylinders, gas tank boiled and coated, suspension all set ... next I'll put 336:1 rear in. And here is a shot for the Canadiens (french spelling!)
By the way, I am looking for another set of the hood trim for a second hood that is getting the Thunderbolt scoop treatment if anyone has a line on a pair.
Welcome Wingnut! That 336:1 rear end will be a real stump puller, course the car will prolly top out at 3 mph?
Painting For a real eye-catching color, go with Sapphire Blue with a light blue for accenting. TJ in GB
and where are you from that you can make fun of Canukians?? If Stove doesnt get his s/d outa my back yard soon...i;ll have some parts for ya
