Yep, this one is mine. I think I've found a full size that I'm going to replace it with so I've got to make room. I'll post some details on my next car soon, hopefully. Till then, here is a link to a CL posting I just put up. Plus, there's some info floating around the forum when I was thinking of selling it earlier. (But ended up selling the Vista Cruiser instead...) http://spacecoast.craigslist.org/cto/2492095096.html 1967 Pontiac Tempest Wagon with GTO look - $7500 (Cocoa Beach) Date: 2011-07-13, 12:30PM EDT Reply to: sale-m4bht-2492095096@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?] Up for sale is my 1967 Pontiac Tempest station wagon. It currently sports a 67 GTO hood and grills. Since Pontiac never actually made a GTO wagon, I opted for a GOAT emblem up front and have not put any other badging on it. I've put over 50,000 miles on her in the past 9 years or so but I've decided to move up to a full size wagon so this has to go to make room. Car is very solid, with little to no rust, solid floors, frame, tailgate, fenders, etc. 326 V8 with a newly rebuilt TH350 (by JW transmissions in Cocoa) and a limited slip rear end. I put custom springs on it all around, slightly lower than stock to improve the center of gravity and handling. New KYB shocks, tubular rear control arms and power front disc brakes. The engine is very reliable and has a number of parts that will swap right on to a 400 or 455 if you want to go that direction. Ram Air Restorations exhaust manifolds, MSD distributor, 4bbl intake and q-jet carburetor, new alternator, new master cylinder and booster. And I've got all the original parts (intake, transmission, rear gears, etc) that will go with the car. I've also got a 73 455 with th400 that I'll throw in with the deal to gain me some space in my garage. That 455 will need rebuilt but fortunately you can drive the car while you build up the new powerplant. Just put a new waterpump on the car and it doesn't break 195 degrees just sitting in traffic. Usually the gauge barely moves off of 180. Not interested in trades as I'm selling this to make room. The car is a factory air conditioned car and everything is still in place but the compressor leaks and will need replaced or serviced. Not much else in the way of options. Manual windows all around. Interior is in nice shape, no cracks in the dash and no tears in the seats. The front bench has had a panel replaced where the driver sits so that part doesn't match. Car still has the original vinyl floor mat instead of carpet. Headliner is good but does have two small tears. One in the rear (4"), one above a passenger door (2"). I've got loads of pictures and if you want to see something specific, just let me know. If you have any questions, e-mail me with your phone number and a good time to call.
Hello teej, i´m new to this forum and haven´t had much time , to say hello, nor do i have a wagon yet. I just started, to read through the threads and saw your Pontiac. So far i was looking for a Catalina, but yours looks also very good. Is the Tempest a midsize wagon, like the Chevy Nova? Sorry for that dump question, but as said, a newbie with Pontiacs... Any more pictures available? Where is the rust, you were talking about? All info is much appreciated, since this ride would suit my(swmbo´s) budged Greets Elky67
Welcome Elky67... I'll drop you a PM, but I'll also answer your questions... Yes, the Tempest is the mid-sized Pontiac (A-body) and the Catalina would be the full size (B-body). It compares more to the Chevelle and Cutlass than the Nova, which was built on an X-body. Your El Camino is another A-body car. In the same year range the full size wagons are about 5 inches wider and not quite a foot longer. Check your private messages and send me your e-mail. I'll drop you pictures of anything and everything. The rust I mention is only just behind the front wheels above the rocker trim. I think I've got a picture of it as well. Are you really in Germany?
where in germany are you? Are you military or working. I lived in Ingolstadt for 6 months not too long ago. Would love to work as an EXpat again. Theres a guy running around Ingolstadt with a red 76-78 (I forget) trans am. Wears his Pontiac coat (Burt Reynolds style) every time hes out in it. Campy but kind of cool.
Hey Teej. Is your Bonnie originally a 421 tri-power 4 spd car or a convert? I'd give my left #$% for an original one. I passed on a 66 2dr convertible 8 lug car once and never forgave myself. It was a Michigan car and rotten to the core. The only thing savable was the driveline (sans tripower of course) and the 8 lugs. Man that car was cool. manual brakes, manual steering, power top. It was meant to run down 2+2 catalinas, and anything else foolish enough to line up next to it of course. That how I scored my 66 convertible. It was the parts car for the tri power. Should have bought them both. tri power car got parted and crushed.
