Like i wrote when i started this thread, The guy i got it from was at the Pomona Swap meet 3 years ago, he bought the car, got it shipped to the Netherlands and parked it in a barn and never got around to do her up…..
He got it up for sale and that's were i come along…..
    And now she's mine...:2_thumbs_up_-_anima
    …guess it's a Dutch barn find..

..about 4 years ago i was looking for parts for a '64 belair 4dr, and i guy knew a guy who had a friend, who had a '64 partscar sitting in a field, outside his house……….i guess, i was thinking…yeah yeah we'll see..…but still i drove there i found a beautiful '64 buick lesabre coupe in that field.
Payed the guy 1000 euro's and took it home….
Couldn't take this ride apart….it was to good.
Now a good mate of me is doing her up all the way….http://www.amerikaanseautopagina.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=67447

guess what i'm trying to say, even in a tiny country like ours, there are still hidden treasures standing around.

I like following this thread. Hopefully, if you move it to the "cosmetic & restoration" section, you will shrink the pix a bit so I don't have to travel to Chicago to see the whole pic.:rofl2::rofl2:;)

    Cool project!!!
I am most impressed that you went with an AM-FM 8-track stereo player however. Do you have any 8-track tapes?
In month or so I plan to write and post here a bunch of info about repairing the players and cart's. Sure, the iPod is really the way to go and keeps the dash clean and uncluttered... period even. But the 8-track is also very period correct for most of these glory wagons in my opinion. And they can be made to work with basic tools and CHEAP quality tunes.

    Nice '64!

the 8-track was already in there and my opinion is that it fits in the era..
same thoughts about the Cragars and have a peek at the followup on this thread in cosmetic and restoration ('64 impala wagon) …..see my valve covers and airfilter..:thumbs2:
Most of the music i'll be playing will come from a 327 cui with a dual exhaust.. (hidden stereo)
    :lolup::lolup::lolup:
About the tapes…i have 3 right now, but i'm still looking for some more..

I don't want to create too much of thread drift here... but, I purchased some of my tapes back in the day when they were new and never got rid of them. The rest of the them... close to 400, were bought off eBay when you could get them for a buck (U.S.). But the prices have slowly creeped up over the years.

The above is a portable player that was popular with the kids in the early 70's but the quality is poor and mono to boot. I have a nice under dash model still in the box that is going into my '58 wagon very soon.

The best site still on the internet regarding tapes is 8-Track Heaven. The site has not been updated in loooonnnnggg time so don't post or expect a reply from the moderator. But it still contains a ton of info that can help anyone wanting to learn more about the unique little play back devices.

Now, back to the subject. Last night I attended the "Night of Fire" annual car show with my partner. We produce and sell hot rod t-shirts, I am the artist and he is the "big cheese". Eventually we will have our own print shop set up but till then we use two other local fairly high quality printers to get our stuff done. And... we cruse to the shows in "Rat Hole#1", a 1964 Chevrolet Belair wagon!

There were a few wagons at the show but the coolest had to have been this Pacer wagon with its 'slightly modified' powerplant.

Jairus, was that show in Bend?
I was in Bend on business early in the day yesterday, then headed south on 97 toward hwy 58. Saw a lot of hot rods headed north on 97.....including one I had seen before - a red '57 Bel Air sedan delivery. Owner runs a collector car appraisal business I believe - he sets up at shows.
