so you are really going to put the hood scoops on as in the Yellow wagon ? I must say that will certainly draw attention at the local drive - in criuses ! Ed Shaver

Absolutely. The hood is really the center piece of any car. And I've been a hood scoop fan my whole life. I just wanted to do something different. I just need some spare time to work on it. Thanks for all the compliments guys.

Hi everyone. Hope you're doing well. Finally got back to working on the wagon. Started to shape the scoop and tack it onto the hood.

Got the hood tacked together. I'm not fully satisfied with how the scoop turned out. Don't get me wrong. I like it, it just could have been better. At least that is what the perfectionist in me is saying. What the perfectionist doesn't realize is that I want to get the wagon done.

Completely missed this thread. Awesome work!(y)

It's capped off, or are you making it an active scoop?

Thanks Stormin I appreciate it. The scoop is capped off. Originally I was going to make it a working scoop but decided against it for time reasons. I had this really cool air cleaner to hood air box designed. It was gonna be half polished stainless, half body color painted. It was gonna be awesome. Then I decided to scale it back a little on the trick parts and just concentrate on getting the wagon done. I will install perferated metal screens in the scoop to make it look cool. At one point in the design process I was even thinking about cutting in a ram air intake on the header panel. Like the new Camaro has. But I decided I should just keep it simple. Still do an awesome frame-off but keep it basically stock. The thing is, I haven't had a cool car to drive since my 59 Plymouth Belvedere got destroyed by a drunk driver about 8 years ago. It's painful to restore my customers cars all the time and never have a cool car for myself. I just want to drive my wagon so bad I can taste it. And as soon as I'm done with my wagon I'm planning on starting on my 79 Camaro Z-28 or maybe my 61 Cadilac Hearse. I got some real cool plans for the hearse.

I had a buddy whose last name was Coffin who did up a 1953 Caddy hearse for a chuckle. Sold it and bought a 3 storey house, back in the early 70s. A hearse owners' club bought it. Don't know if its still around.

I just realized I have this thread in the wrong place. I didn't realize there was a subforum for projects. Is it possible to move it to the right place? Or do the powers that be do it. I would hate to be looked down on as a forum idiot even though I can be one.

Thanks Roadking. Hopefully will have the hood welded up solid by this weekend. I'll post more pictures then.
