Hello, as the title says, I am Linc....

I own several Fairlanes and a Mustang. But what I really would like is to dump my 62 Fairlane Four Door for a 62 Fairlane Wagon. So I am on the hunt. If anyone out there knows where one is, I would like to know about it. I would like a mostly solid car with an interior present. That is, all the pieces are there. And having all the glass would be a major plus now wouldn't it.

So if you have a lead, let me know.

Has to be a 62... might consider a 63 but not a 64. It has got to have fins!

Ford didn't make a 62 Fairlane wagon. The new for 62 mid size Ford Fairlane and Mercury Meteor were only available as 2 and 4 door post sedans. In 63, wagons and 2 door pillarless hardtops were added to the line. Of course, you could always buy a 63 Fairlane wagon and add the front clip and chrome trim from a 62.

    Heres a 63 on Craigslist

How sure are you about this? I am a member of the Fairlane Club of America and the latest issue of the club magazine has a red 62 wagon on the cover.

Nevermind.... contacted the editor and found that someone 'made' the 62 wagon that was on the cover. Ok, so I guess I am running down the 63 then. Will check out these links.

...yeah, that Ford never built the wagon of Linc's dreams so he has to build it himself. Sorry about breaking the bad news to you Linc.

No worries... I called on the 63 and it is available. I am in Michigan and it is in Denver... so I am having a friend local to Denver look at it hopefully tomorrow and if I can get the guy to sell it to me and my buddy to hold it for me, I should have on in a few weeks... or months depending on how things go for me.

    Linc,
If you like the Fairlane's fins, how do you feel about the 63 Fairlane wagon's brother, the 63 Meteor wagon?

    http://lethbridge.kijiji.ca/c-cars-...rcury-Meteor-Wagon-PROJECT-W0QQAdIdZ229885277

1963 (or 64?) Mercury Meteor Wagon.
    Running 260 V8. Auto transmission.
Body is straight with minimal rust.
All glass is good (back window is stored in the car)
Chrome trim is all there and is in good condition.
Interior is pretty rough, needs to be redone.
    Brakes and tires are good.
A great project for someone else!
**currently not driven, may need to be trailored**

The meteor has a great look and the front end is way better then the fairlane, but the fins are more subtle. I think the tail light placement is superior on the meteor though.
