Scraped and cleaned the frame cross member and shot coat of chassis black.
With no power steering or other accessories, this is in plain view when the motor is in the bay..

Finished up cleaning the engine bay as much as I wanted to.
Decided not to do the firewall.
Once the motor is back in , most of the firewall will not be as visible.
I like the old patina look.
    I am doing a revival--not a full blown restoration,LOL

    Camshaft and crankshaft installed,
Checked the deck height in this pic...Typical 70's low compression where the slugs sit waaaay down in the hole,LOL!!

Building an engine nowadays even when doing 95% of the work is not cheap.
We were lucky that the block and heads did not require any outside machine work.
Using the original pistons (the block did not need boring) cut costs dramatically.
If the block needed an overbore it snowballs from there---new pistons, then the rotating assembly needs balancing and on and on it goes....I have been there!
But I digress..luckily the wagon motor was in very good shape and we are moving forward with what we got.
Simple old school bolt on power boosters is the name of the game. Bigger cam, intake and headers al8ng with the massaged cylinder heads will make torque and powet to pull a heavy car and whatever else I haul with the damn car,LOL!

Yeah, hopefully you decked the block to bring compression up a smidge.
