Hey everybody I recently have acquired a 92 Buick road master wagon after a long time driving European imports( vws ) Its my first american built car. I guess you could say i was hit by the nostalgia factor because when i was a kid we had a ford fairmont wagon and then later an 89 caprice wagon. I really like the car it feels solid and is a joy to drive its not in the best shape but it has 183000 miles on it currently and for a car that old is that really in bad shape? the body is almost free of dings and dents with an exception of a dent on the right side of the bumper as well as on in the rear . I've seen some cool things done to these wagons and i want to do mine up as well. I was wondering how how hard it would be to drop the lt1 in? looking forward to learning some more from you fellahs

:welcomewagon:The only advantage to the LT1 over the L05 350 is a little more power. The disadvantages would be a trouble prone electronic shifting transmission, optispark distributor under water pump weep hole where it gets wet, and a lot more fuel injection hardware than on the throttle body L05. When I was looking for a Caprice wagon I got a 93 for just these reasons, the 3.23 rear gear makes up for the lower horsepower to me.

welcome i have a 93 roadmaster. it is a small block chevy so your horsepower options are unlimited. a simple vortech supercharger would bolt on under the hood and probably add 100 hp or so

Welcome to the forum. Good luck with your wagon. I agree, keeping it simple keeps it more fun.

Welcome, it sure feels good to have "The Heartbeat of America" under your right foot doesn't it? I would love to see some photos of your wagon.
