Just signed up, I love the stationwagons it nice to be different. My first car was a 1973 Torino stationwagon. When I was shopping for a car to buy I ran across a 1976 Gran Torino wagon and had to have it. It came with the original 351-M but now has a 460 with tunnel ram, bored .30 over and a few other goodies. I;m happy to see a site for those of us that like to be different. I post pictures in the gallery I think.

Andy, I saw a 1982 Capri owner at the JY with a Mustang 5.0 H/O with dual air intake snorkels. 300 HP! Beautiful black magic. His dad just ordered a new 2011 Mustang with over 400 HP at the wheels. They sold the farm and reaping the toy harvest! :biglaugh:

Nice. Can't believe you were able to squeeze a 460 in there. Yikes. The thing must haul like nobody's business. What are its 0-60 or 1/4 mile #'s? Welcome to the forum, Ford.

I worked at a Ford dealer in 1974, and if I remember correctly, you could order a '75 Torino with a 460.......not the high horsepower monster you would get back in '71 with the 429, but still with a lot of torque. My old wood shop teacher from jr high school came in and wanted to order a wagon with a 460.....

Confirmed! Here's a page of the '75 Torino brochure. You'll have to 'zoom in' to see it, but it mentions a 4v 460 available as an option.

I have been working on my car for a while I'm getting ready to put in my 3rd transmission. when building this thing I went way over budget and ran out of money. So I'm still trying to get this set up working right I didnt know the tunnel ram set up would be so difficult to tune. I'm learning most of this as I go along so I have not been able to run the quarter mile yet. Thank you guys for all the nice comments I have really work hard on this car, I love this damn thing. The 460 actually just dropped right in with custom motor mounts. This is a super cool web site I'm happy I found it and to see I'm not alone. I had a lot of na sayers when I bought this car but it true love.
