It was painted original colors...Sierra Gold/Adobe Beige. Over the years my wife and I have had several cars that color. We like it. It was a very popular color back then.
OK, having a spare in stock makes it much better. And the shop. And the septic now that I think about that and how important that is to the wife....... I have always loved that color. A friend had a hardtop those colors and if I'd had the money at the time I'd of bought it. I like to think I'd still have it, but I suspect it would have gone when the safari came along. You are not lacking for projects and cars and it would appear that you have the space to have a lot of fun.
I'm getting a kick out of guys asking about and complimenting the color, tab. They must be younger guys....and I mean no offense by that (wish I was younger!)....that was a common color combo on those back in my day. I remember when that car first arrived on the scene. It brings back memories for me. That's a real nice wagon too. Looks well preserved.
i'll buy them...were they GM bolt pattern only..or uni-lug ?...and what size are they?....if your interested
Actually Fox that is a color combo I have always appreciated. There were several '56's in the town I lived in that were those colors and I lusted after them, to no avail. When I repainted the Safari the first time I toyed with the idea but the boss wanted greens and that is what we got. Oh well................
Safari57, I found an artist version of a '57 Safari 4 door and '57 Buick in colors very similar. I'm not sure if Pontiac, Buick and Chevy used exactly the same colors that year. It might have been original color for some cars like yours. However, your car looks great with the color you chose.
