WTF is it with new members here lately? I go to a Mopar forums and a new guy joins and uses fowl language in the location part of where he is located.

I sign on here and a new member called 60vette is using foul language in a reply to his post.

Have people forgotten how to use the art of English Language? :(

What gets me everyone here gets along great and a round about way to say what they mean, but what 60vette stated even goes against the website rules.

I locked the thread, I think it was a misunderstanding.

Well, after reading this thread, I figured that this new guy, 60vette, must have really used some terrible language in his posts...I go to the offending intro post, and read the word "ass"! Big deal! If you put the word ass into the search, you come up with many instances where it has been used, and the forum didn't come to a crashing halt!

I have an issue with someone making a big deal out of someone supposedly violating a rule against using foul language and then starting a thread with the shorthand code abreviation "WTF". We all know exactly what that stands for...and I think that is the height of foul language. Sounds pretty hypocritcal to me.

Have people forgotten how to use the art of the English Language? Indeed!

I just put "WTF" in the post search, and it brought up some familiar names. A few of them are the greatly offended rule quoters slamming a new member instead of welcoming him.

I think 60vette is owed an apology.

Initials are different than using using actual words. I owe 60vette no apology The rules do state no foul language which I have not done with the title of this thread. You have to understand there are children that do log on here.

Hilarious! How about you clean up your own language, abreviations and all! Abreviating such a crude phrase and claiming that you are in the right is classic! You are using abreviations for the children? :rofl2:

I am not trying to start a flame war, but when I see such glaring self-rightiousness and hypocracy, I think it should be addressed.

If you are not trying to start a flame war, then just drop it. Are you the boss here? I believe Stef took care of things the way HE, THE BOSS, saw fit. Stop now before he gets upset. We are all friends here for the most part and we should handle ourselves, both new and old members, as adults. Do you question your boss when he/she tells you to do something? I doubt it and Stef locked the topic because that is how he wanted it handled before it got out of control, yet here you are, starting what he did not want to happen.

I didn't realize that little remark was going to ster up so much heat and be the talk of the day if not the week, much less get everyone mad at each other!

Let me just state that I had a hard day yesterday (not that that in itself is any excuse) and tbirdsps remark about cutting the roof off my 1959 Pontiac which of course would ruin the car, did greatly offend me, so I lashed out. At the time it appeared this was the reaction he was looking for, so I gave it to him.

As for as little kids being on this forum, I think we all know there are a lot worse words out there that the A word. Turn on the TV, You'll here the F word any day of the week.

By the way the 61-63 T-bird wagon that tbirdsps showed was pretty sharp looking. If someone took the top off a 59 Pontiac wagon and welded it to a 66 T-bird I suppose that would be rather cool looking but not at the expense of destroying a nearly rust free 59 pontiac. It just hit me the wrong way, that's all. I do have a 59 Pontiac safari wagon parts car also. This wouldn't have offended me if someone stated that about it and if anybody wants the roof for such a project, let me know.

Just a little bit of internet rag, thats all. Tell me any one of you hasn't sent a hateful email or thead at least once in his life time?

With all that said, I appolagize to anyone that I offended and I'm certantly not one to hold grudges. So there, it's done over with, it's a new day and if anybody is still sore and bitter with me then that's their problem!

As for as placing it on ebay or craigslist, I already tried ebay with little luck with the economy being what it is and it is listed on craigs list right now. (y)
