This entire build is very impressive. You are certainly a very talented fabricator. I can't wait to see how it progresses from here.
The valve covers are pretty spendy ($1200) but I got such a good deal on the engine I figured why not. Some like to mount the coils elsewhere but there are not many places to hide them plus the time involved, wiring etc... I actually have less money in this engine than I have in the 400 sb I run in the 66 hardtop.
I agree with you totally on that. My grandfather told me over and over thru out my early years to buy quality the first time so you don't get disappointed down the line.....Longroofs Rule!
Well I haven't been here much lately because there was no progress on my wagon. After sitting in an upholstery shop for 18 months with no real progress, I brought it home. I have started doing some fabrication work to ready it for the next guy. This last Thursday I hauled it to Poulsbo WA to have it looked at by a very competent guy. His name is Tony Miller and owns Stitches Custom Upholstery. He has done a number of high profile award winning cars, magazine worthy cars and a Ferrari that won Best of Show at Pebble Beach in 2014. I have a spot for February 2020. He says he can do it in 2 months time. I am very excited to have this project moving forward again!! Check out his Facebook page @ Stitches Custom Upholstery.
I lived and went to high school in Poulsbo; a couple of my friends (who are pistonheads) still live in Northern Kitsap County, around Suquamish and Kingston; I'll reach out, see if they've heard of this guy, and if so, what they've heard.

Man, that's rough. I know what it's like waiting and waiting for progress on a project only to have to go and retrieve it and start the process of looking for someone else to finish the work. It can be very frustrating. But, it sounds like you have found a solution and have a timeline, so that's a positive. Good luck, I'll be looking forward to seeing progress pics once he gets rolling.
