Sure you want to sell? These are hard to find in this condition at this point (at least at any reasonable price).

Very true, but yes. I want to buy a '91-'96 generation CE and have my eye on one that is for sale. I just don't have the space for two wagons.

Good luck on a replacement. That was a super nice Caprice Estate.

Thanks jwdtenn. It was indeed in great shape with super low miles.

I'm working on it Marshall! I have my eye on a '93 CE. Of course like so many others, it's out of state so there are logistics to work through. If it works out, I hope to have it in my garage in a couple of weeks.

Are you sure you don't want to hold off, and find a '94 - '96 with the LT-1?

No, I'm not sure lol. But haven't found one yet. I'm a bit picky though. It's gotta be a Chevy with wood. Most of what I do see on the market are the Buick RM's. I'm okay with a TBI, so long as it's a 350.

Okay here it is! It just arrived yesterday afternoon:
    1993 Caprice Wagon Arrival.jpeg

I bought a 1993 Chevy Caprice wagon out of the mid-west. It has just over 107K miles on it, TBI 350. Previous owner and his wife were a pleasure to deal with; we talked for about 3 weeks. They owned it for about 12 years, using it to travel with their sheep dog (who has since passed on). I have quite a bit of cleaning and detailing to do, but that will come later. First order of business is getting it to pass CA smog, which I'm not expecting to be easy. Next weekend I am looking to do the DMV thing, so I can at least drive it. So far, I've only gone about 100 yards from truck to drive way lol.

They took very good care of it, doing some restorative work here and there over the years they had it. They had it repainted and the wood decals done over, replaced the headliner, re-upholstered the seats and door panels; all very tastefully done. The AC blows cold (converted to 134). Although I've not yet tested everything, I was told everything works, save one radio speaker.

There is one new (already) challenge I ran into last night as I was putting her to bed. I opened the tailgate (as a door, not flat downward) and when I went to close it, the two interior courtesy lights and the red "gate ajar" light on the dash would not go out. I subsequently opened and closed the gate with some force several times (followed by the glass portion) with no luck. The gate lines up perfectly when closed, but the darn lights won't go off. Any "whale" wagon owners here who have experienced this before? I ended up disconnecting the battery before I went to bed last night.

What's a classic car without challenges, right? Anyway, thanks for listening (and in advance for any advice)!

    Matt

Maybe you should use Amsoil P.I. for two or three tanks to clean up emissions. I'd suggest using the water injection method but if the combustion chambers are already pretty dirty that might not be the best choice and this would be gentler.

    LOVE the color!

This is (not) going to be fun, watching you jump through hoops to pass the emissions. Good luck!

    Side note:
Appears to be a Focus C-Max (it's a hybrid gas/electric) ahead of you on the trailer. Sort of surprised that someone would buy one and have it shipped. There's a glut of these on the used market. You can find them everywhere.....for pretty cheap.
