Jack, sounds nice, looks great too. Whats the deal with the jeep intermediate shaft? Does this also eliminate the rag joint? Dave
Dave, The Jeep Cherokee intermediate shaft does eliminate the rag joint. I feel the steering is firmer, more precise... and no rag joint slop. From what I understand, you can also use the steering shaft from an Astro/ Safari van. They also have the u-joint type setup. They can be had in the junkyard cheaply. I think I paid a whopping $7.00 for mine.
Where do you have to pick this car up, and how far? I hope your mission goes smoothly and without incident. Let us know what happens. Good luck! Jack
Art, Come to think of it, I believe you did mention the car being up in Wisconsin... That's a good haul. I hope it's in good enough shape mechanically to make the trip home. Good luck! The weather has been rather mild for this time of year, so I think you'll be in good shape in that respect. Will this road trip take place this weekend? Jack
I've been to Delavan, Wisconsin. I'll bet the trees are almost bare by now. Good luck on the road trip.
Yeah, I think you're right about that. Well, you're up in Illinois now, it's gotta be getting chilly up there as well...you're not too far from Wisconsin.
