Attention this is a gripe. That's what old people do! We gripe. This is probably old business but it seems to be a growing problem. It has come to my attention that many members are now sending pictures taken with cell phones. Most of these make photos that are way too large which makes them slow or impossible to viiew full size. That is they are MB rather than KB. Nothing to do with actual demensions. I am a patient man but not that patient so I usually don't get to see the pictures more than postage stamp sized. To make viewing easy and more fun there are several photo resizing programs available free. Yes FREE. One I use when my son sends cell phone photos is FOTOSIZER. So simple even I can use it in minutes. Another is FastStone Photo Resizer. There are many more. Just type either in and download the program. Please make life easier for us old grouches and resize your larger photos. This has been a public service announcement.

I really do have a problem getting some pictures to come up large enough to view because they are set at too high a MB. Maybe it's just my computer or internet service but a smaller setting would be nice and takes less memory from the site. And I was bored so decided to gripe. Thanks Hanswurst. Maybe it's that dial up internet you are still using is the problem? Anybody want to bet some $ he won't be able to see the pic posted??

No No and No! Tedy step away from the old phone.:banghead3: It has nothing to do with my crappy satelitte internet service and the actual picture size is not what I'm referring to. It's those small thumb nail pictures that are too large a MB rather than ittie bittie KB's which come up faster when clicked. Youz guys are makin this difficult and complikatered.
Long ago there was an unwritten rule for posting images on forums: 800x600 was the biggest image you should embed in a post to keep the threads formatting from getting messed up, as the post with the picture would require horizontal scrolling. This was back in the day when 1024x768 screen resolution was the norm. This is not such an issue now that wide screen monitors with 1920x1080 resolution are becoming more common. Still, it is generally accepted that 1024x768 is the maximum image size to embed in a post with the button or button. This conserves storage space and bandwidth usage for the forum host. Very large images should be hosted on dedicated image hosts such as Photobucket and linked into posts with text links or clickable thumbnail preview links. Satellite Internet connections are notorious, ModelT1.
I don't care what you call it or how big the photo is that's a great looking station wagon. Plus I can see it in living color on my 10" black and white monitor using a satilite dish. Sure be glad to get moved and have cable.

That photo is an unwanted poster, Sir Tinypic doesn't keep your images forever. Photobucket does and even automatically trims gigantic ones down to size, so that nobody gets banned for spamming the board with wall-sized posters
