My mom and dad had a Focus Wagon too many years ago, they also had two Escort Wagons prior to that.

    Insured!

I switched over my regular insurance to classic-car insurance. Saved me over $200/year :yahoo: . Now I can't take it to work when the other car is in the shop. "What price glory?"

Check with your agent. Possibly you can drive it occasioanlly to work. I know they can be driven to get repaired and to shows. Possibly there will be a car show at work.

I drive my old rides to work all the time. I have classic car insurance on them as well. I was told as long as I don't go over 3500 miles in a year I will be fine and don't use them "for work" (I.E. hauling parts or driving for the job)

Yesterday I took the car out for a ride to Dairy Queen (six miles away) and back in the rain. At one point I thought of turning but I kept going and saw a Rainbow! I also saw a Rainbow on the way back. Once I got the car parked I cleaned it off with a Shammy; it was a bit dusty.

I just completed installing 93 FW electric fans in my 91 OCC. They really clean up the engine compartment and are supposed to free up 5HP.

After blowing an oil cooler line last spring my wagon sat in the garage until I finally had the time to install new oil cooler lines and an aftermarket Mocal oil cooler. I also installed another intake manifold that I bead blasted at work, some wheel adapters and a set of 18" BBS wheels.

Did first oil change for Rambler 330. Oil was dark as it gets.
Discovered drain plug is at center rear of pan. Ideal for jacking up front to let it drain & drain with down hill assist.
Replaced old whatever with 3qt conv 30W, 2qt Mobil 1 10-30, bottle Hy-Per Lube zinc replacement.

Amazed how much quieter engine is.

Took the Way Back machine down to a repair shop this afternoon, for the following:
    - Coolant flush
    - Check bypass tube on top of water pump - hose connection looks a bit wonky.
    - Check belts and hoses
    - Change spark plugs (platinum plugs furnished)
    - Check hesitation / vibration around 55mph
    - Fix inoperable power door locks and 12V outlet.

Only been to this shop once before, fixing dtr's Focus. Older manager at counter jots down all info on a note pad. Does not have me sign ANYTHING......

I'll let them check it out for a day or so, then check back.

I haven't picked up the DampRid yet but I will.
She's going to storage tomorrow. :( We decided on the place just down the street, AL's Attic. It used to be a windows and doors warehouse. They recently moved and have renovated the building into personal storage units and a large area for car storage, as well as another large room for campers, etc.
The fellow walked me through a few weeks ago, it's really nice. Concrete floors, cinder block walls, very high ceiling with wood beams. High glass block windows, so the light will be indirect and they're so high that on one will be able to see in from the outside, I like that.
They have been storing their own RVs in there for some time and have never had any issues with rodents. They have a professional rodent control company monitoring the building and there is video surveillance around the outside.
Other facilities were asking average $140.00 per 4 weeks which totaled over $900.00 for the season. Al's Attic are charging $300.00 for the season. I can put her in whenever I like but I can't take her out until April 25/15. All cars will leave on the same day, should be an interesting day. The cars enter through a rear garage door, line up in front of another garage door, two abreast and parked end for end. So first in first out.
I think this will be a great place for Lil Sis to spend the winter. Hubby is taking her tomorrow, I have to work. I've already told him he has to take a few pics. The fellow told me I'm more then welcome to check on her whenever I like. Told me to just give him a call and he'd let me in.

Sounds like a good deal fannie. Sure better than sitting outside all winter.

Concrete floors and walls with a stirdy roof over head, IMO you don't need to spend the $ on damprid. For
Moisture, for years I've just tossed old news papers in, my barn is damp and I've never in the years had any damping mold issues ever and my barn is drafty and damp. :thumbs2:
All kinds of critters have eazy access. The Bounce fabric softener sheets inside and under the hood keep everything away, nothing (mice, rats, bugs, etc) likes it for some reason and yet I still spread some Critter Ridder under the car just to make sure... no problems yet after years of doing this....but it sounds like you won't need Critter Ridder, but for that fresh from the dryer smell come spring time I'd still use the Bounce sheets:rednose:
