Ha, now that's funny! I mean it's not funny, but it's funny...I said the same thing after being bitten by a cat 10 years ago. I ended up getting an IV injection of MRSA (a super bug) that ate up my lungs that resulted in a month in a coma (great way to lose weight!), 13 chest tubes, 2 surgeries and 3 months in the hospital. they kept telling my wife that she needed to start making my "arrangements", but she kept saying "Eh, he'll be fine". My Dr said "We'll make a small cut here and another one here, then remove a couple ribs, pull your stomach muscle up over your lung and patch the holes", but when I woke up I'd been opened up from my groin, straight up my stomach and over to the right side of my chest! I was like "What the hell is this?" I counted 115 staples and I told my wife "There goes my modeling career!" I tell people I was attacked by a shark while surfing, it sounds better than I was trying to catch a stray kitten and it bit me... :)

I have been working on our old 96 road master wagon . My son has been driving it and like a lot of kids his age (18) has a thing for these killer sub woofer boxes! The two 15 inch sub woofer are powered buy a 5000 watt power amp! This damn thing is rattling the car apart piece by piece! I have had the tailgate window release break right off from the vibration (the metal cracked and the latch fell inside the gate). I have had all the taillight filiments in the bulbs break as well. Well now for the latest.... The fuel tank cracked right across the top where the tank rests against the body about 2 inches. Again this is from vibration. If I don't find a tank (and now lines too) this car will be done. I hate to let it go because I still liked using once in a while. But it is VERY clear the vibration from 5000 watts of sub woofer have taken a major toll on the entire car. Ever door panel is now cracked or broken the car creaks and rattles like never before. I am very upset about this but everyone's attitude (except mine) is that it is a 18 year old car with almost 300K (let it go). I would still like to find the parts and use it for a winter car I guess we will see. The good news is that my daughter takes better care of hers and that one is still running fine.

Man, you guys have some sad stories. I don't know which is worse, being attacked by a kitten, a tailgate, or having speakers destroy a perfectly good wagon.
Good thing I still have the memories of Tedy laying in his front yard in a thong on my mind.:banghead3:
RMay I still think the Hotwheels bandaids woulda worked. You whooose.

    Oh My Goodness... you guys!

RMay...:49: how awful...your so lucky it went away from you and hit your arm. PLEASE be very careful putting that weapon back together.

688guy...to be clear, was the infection from an IV or from the kitten scratch? Either way you too are very fortunate to be here...must be the empathy from that DW of yours. :)

DanR63...:disagree: I don't know what to tell you, except tell that boy to turn it down and get out a screw drive and tighten that baby back up again. Since this car is the same age as your son, you might want to point out that if those speakers can slower shake apart at heavy land yacht, it can't have good results on his body and hearing... I do have a slight suggestion if he's going to shake, rattle and roll on down the road it might want to do it to this catchy little number...

Your son might want to back off on the bass!
There have been documented cases of collapsed lungs (spontaneous pneumothorax ) related to loud clubs, concerts and vehicles.
Sounds crazy, but if it happens and goes untreated, it can kill.

Nice Datsun. However it looks more like a 1984 (720)...

    Than a 1974 (620)...

We had a 1978 (or was it 1979) 620 l'il hustler. Great sport truck. IIRC 1975 was the best year for these as the later 620s lost a lot of power to EPA. They were catless I believe until 1980 but that meant a lot of detuning to get them legal. Of course now days that can easily be fixed. The biggest trick these days is finding one that hasn't succumb to oxidation.

Bought a fuel tank from someone on the longroof forum and should be getting it in the next few days. Was able to find the replacement couplers for the fuel tank side of the lines. (the originals where completely rusted off) So once the tank gets here I should be able to get tis beast running and back on the road again. Hopefully my son will not rattle the poor thing apart.

Got zapped again by bad gas. This is becoming an issue, so THIS TIME, I mounted two filters into the gas line, one at the fuel pump, and one at the NEW DEMON carb with composite fuel bowels. Have to pull the tank to have it coated. A place in Conyers GA will split the tank, coat it/seal it and re weld it for 200.00. Then it will be FUEL PROOF (ha ha)sorry. I just get tired of folks messing with our cars and forcing the crap gas upon us. Anyway, when I get the tank back I will post again and get her running. This kind of screwed with my late summer cruising plans...but what the heck...Thankfull I have my wagon...I can at least sit and play with the steering wheel, and make engine noises...vroom vroom....

Had a mystery antifreeze leak.. Found it when I took off the manifolds.. Calcium deposits in the manifolds and exhaust ports on both sides 4-6 and 3-5.. Weird..

I decided to polish up the wagon this afternoon. I took a clay bar and did that on the hood and roof, then put a nice coat of Turtle Wax on the beast. Damn, did that wake that paint up! Looks really nice!

You can see where I overlooked the center of the roof, so I'll hit that tomorrow.
