I've been without a wagon for close to a decade:cry:, but I saved this little turd from the scrapper (traded a old F100 cab & a engine & tranny) drove it home with no issues, for the last couple the only miles were to drive down the get the mail.

Best of luck DD. Cute little wagon and with the stick, I'll bet it's a blast to drive.

    1956 Ford Country Sedan

Got my '56 Ford Country Sedan in January of this year.
Still a lot left to do, but I have ran into a snag! Who knows
how to reinstall the sliding glass windows. I've tried all
angles and there just isn't any room. I need about 1/2 inch
to make it happen. Glass is new as well as felt runner.

This project has been fun some days and a pain on others.
One thing is for sure - if you can do it yourself do it! I've
learned that in a lot of cases I can do the job as good or
better than the so called professional. And you save big
    time on labor cost!!

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Tom

Hey, Where can I get one of these manual transmission manual brake manual steering cars to try out?

... Though removing the belt for power steering from a manual transmission truck will make it somewhat similar...

Tom, get a bigger hammer. :)
I know some of these window replacement jobs seem impossible but with patience and care they usually fit. Hopefully someone who has done one like yours can give you some tips.

I don't know how she did it, but my brothers little wife drove her 1965 or so Ford truck for a long time without the power steering working.

I don't think you can hardly find a new vehicle without power steering, power brakes, automatic, fancy stereo, and AC, or any combination. Then if you do it costs extra for less.
Like my Dodge truck, I paid more for a painted grille and painted front and rear bumper rather than chrome.:slap:

    One sore Hubby

So hubby has been trying to get the oil pan cover off Lil Sis and she hasn't been very cooperative. This is what he has had to deal with...

    1) being over 60
    2)hot and humid(for us)conditions.
3)one of bolts for the oil pan was behind the motor mount
4)so he had to remove the harmonic balancer. However, whoever tried to remove this balancer before broke off three bolts in there.
5)he carefully managed to pry the balancer off.
6)then he was able to remove that last oil pan bolt.
    7) tadahhhh the oil pan cover is finally off.

He's been banging his knuckles on that thing over three different days...:jumping:

I can find cars with manual transmissions and I can remove air conditioning. Some cars have an all-one-belt system including the power steering. There are vehicles made with hand-crank windows even now.

What to do about the rest, though?

Which engine does Lil Sis have? There's at least one (but I can't remember which) that requires a very special Kent-Moore tool to pull the balancer off with, and the broken bolts may have been failed attempts to remove it. The one I love is the 3.8L, which is a slide-fit.

It is amazing how difficult some seemingly simple and straight forward maintenance needs turn in to. Suddenly they become major stress and seem to take forever. I had a leaky rear seal (rope type) on a 389 Pontiac engine that we could not get to quite leaking. Replaced it four times, 3 on my own, then a buddy helped on the 4th attempt. Never did get it so completely seal. This was all before I bought my hoist so I was laying on my back under the car on jack stands and not very happy about it. I can feel your hubby's pain. One of those click your heels and take a big sigh of relief when it is finally done.
