    those wagons

Have been thinking, for a while now, that one of these big old wagons would be a good platform for a bio-diesel drivetrain retrofit or some kind of hybrid system.Even if you only double the gas mileage, you make it way better than any full size SUV,at present...And,you end up with a way cooler car.

there is some old Disney movie with an old Country Squire and a big ole St Bernard. Im not sure of the name of the movie. And the blues brothers had a red Squire. the Nazi's drove it.

What I think your talking about is North Avenue Irregulars from about 1978 or 1979. I already have that one on tape....I still think about getting a St Bernard later in my life....but my German Shep suits me just fine.

The Blues Brothers did not have any Squires, just a plane '77 or '78 Pinto and LTD wagon...the wagon and Pinto had a short lived life.....

In the movie "the Goonies" they show a brown 69 or 70 country squire sitting in their driveway about 3 or 4 times in the movie.

You've got the biggest one on earth in Sacramento. That Solar Steam Train. Uses the sun's heat during the day to heat up a Solar Battery (a special heat preserving chemical composition) and runs all day and runs up to 70 MPH. Well, it turns out, that a related team have done it to a Big Mercury Stationwagon. This battery is stored in the floor, and the cars weighs in a few hundred more pounds than stock. I'll see if I can find the links.

Visited Sacramento last year, heard nothing about it.By all means, share the info when you get it...Personally,I believe hybrids are going to be better for the planet than "all electrics".When you consider what the world and all it's inhabitants go thru to get electricity produced, all electric cars are no better. And hybrids will have longer ranges.

All I need now is a really long roof for the parabolic sun reflector. Maybe that Toronado 9 door?:biglaugh:
