Jaguar X-Type, based on the front wheel drive European Ford Mondeo (our Contour/Mystique, but the next generation). To make it more like a Jaguar, all wheel drive with a rear bias was made standard. Since Ford owned both Volvo and Jaguar at the time, the rear design of this is quite similar to the Volvo V-40. Fortunately the platforms are unrelated, as the V-40 is based on the Mazda 3 platform.
I've heard talk that Jaguar is coming out with a new wagon, based on their XF model (a bit larger than the X). Not sure it will make it to the U.S., though.
You can bet it will. Jaguar isn't likely to want to stay out ofthe lucrative American top-end market, going after the likes of B.M.W. and Audi And even more similar to the Rover 75 of which Ford also owned, before the plant was sold to the Chinese:
I find these a bit more interesting. And some other British eye candy... And who ever would have thought of making a wagon out of a TR-6. The TR-6 is one of my favorite little roadsters. I love the clean manly lines. mike
Excuse my ignorance but is that TR6 a custom job? I agree. I love the triumph roadsters. My brother had one which he parked in our basement during the winter. I used to hide in that all of the time, especially when I was listening to his vinyl on a very nice sound system.
