I had contacted the dealer shortly after we bought Fannie. Over the years the dealership has moved three times. With that and the transition to computers all the hard copies were not saved. :( It's been 40+ years so what are you going to do.

    Gentlemen we have a date!

After a nudge from a member(Jer, thanks again) I got off my...fannie  and put a call into our locally bodyshop. I had spoke to him when I first got Fannie and he was to busy at the time.
Anyway, Jon came over yesterday looked her all over and gave us an estimate this morning...:yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:

She is going to have her quarters replaced in September. Then we'll bring her back home and tuck her away in the garage for winter. We'll then take either the fenders or doors up for him to do the repairs untill all the parts are ready for paint.

I'm trying not to get to excited but maybe by spring she'll be ready to be reassembled...:yippee::yippee::yippee:

(In my best singing voice) Guess where she is...go on guess! EEEEEEEEEEEEE!! :yahoo:

Just before 9:00am(est) on Wednesday, Oct. 9/13 Fannie was delievered to Denny's Auto Body to begin her body work...:yippee:

That only took 3 years, 4 months and 1 day. But she is there, so folks a few pics to prove the point...

The way she sat in the driveway waiting patiently.

Five minutes later she arrives at Denny's...

Fannie that's great news; can't wait for next Spring and see it all new again. NOthing great in life comes easy and you've been so patient. I'm sure the wait's going to be well worth it.
Thanks for reaching out, by the way, and inviting me back!!

    Fannie,
After looking at your pictures, I think restoration is the wrong word. Looks more like a resurrection to me.

Step 1 is to replace those really bad quarter panels with those awesome(for the year) ones from Texas.

Step 2 we will bring her back home because as you can see, Denny's shop is not that big.

Step 3 doors, fenders, etc will be taken up piece by piece to be freshened up.

Step 4 will be to bring all these patrs together.

I am hopefull that she will be ready to have the mechanical parts put back on by spring.

Good going, Fannie! Nice to see progress on that wonderful old car. When you paint her, are you going to stay with the red and black, or go back to the original Aqua that is on the firewall? I've always loved that aqua, especially on a wagon. There is something very sharp about it.

Sounds like a good plan. I know Spring starts late where you live but that's still a lot of work to do by then. But if you keep working at you'll get it done. I keep a quote on my desk at work from Thomas Edison - "Sticking to it is the genius." Take pics and keep us posted.
