Unless there 's a way to refinish the disintegrating tint on my '71 Custom Cruiser windshield, I'll need to find a replacement. Question is, what GM B-body cars have compatible windshields? Obviously, the Olds 98 and 88 will work, but will glass from a Cadillac DeVille work? Or glass from a convertible Delta 88? And does anyone know what full size GM windshields are NOT interchangeable? Thanks for any tips. CCFan
Safelite should have it unless you want an original date coded windshield. I checked online and they want $314.95 to replace a '71 Custom Cruiser tinted windshield in my area.
Thanks, BlueVista. I thought that given the car's age and its built-in windshield antenna, it'd be impossible to find new replacement. I'll check it out. Cheers.
I have a similar question for my 1974 FORD COUNTRY SQUIRE! In fact, I have some impacts due to hail! So, where can I find the windshield or a compatible? What is the price?
Bullitt: This is a question Fannie's Hubby can probably answer from memory, since he's been in that business for a long time. However, if my memory serves, that wind screen is the same for wagons and sedans, and probably coupes, from 73 through 78. The cars were completely redesigned and down sized for 79 so 78 would be the cut off. There is a good chance it is available new. The Mercury Marquis wind screen is the same, and the Lincoln Continental sedan/Town Car is probably the same as well, as all used the same cowl.
