I traded the 62 Catalina Wagon for a 1967 Tempest wagon straight up. I realize that I have to start all over again with this wagon, but you want what you want.

Initial plans are to replace the rear shocks and springs, fix the rust and reglue the rear windows back in, ripp out the rug and the ST300 and swap it over to a 4 speed and replace the exhaust.

I have the shocks and springs and the exhaust on its way. I am amassing the 4 speed stuff so if you have any parts and want to trade let me know. Once I get him in the road, I am going to be fixing things one at a time.

Rust is pretty bad on this car, but nothing I cannot handle. He has the stock 326 c.i. engine. Gonna keep that and swap to a 4 BBL. The interior is gold. Not a fan, and will swap it to black piece by piece and paint what I can not find.

Paint is too far away right now, but most likely it will be blue.. More to come. Thats my nephew in the pics :)!

Congratulations. I always did love those Tempest wagons. The lines are just beautiful my favorite body style. Great job. Please start a project thread. I know we will want to see how you progress. The one thing of which I am sure, it will be spectacular when you are finished.

    Thanks! I will.

Most of the people who have seen my old wagon and this one say.. "You traded the Bluesmobile, for this?!"

    Congratulations (Re: 1967 Tempest Wagon)

Congrats on the new wagon!! :tiphat:

Sounds you are going to make some of the upgrades I'm having done to my trusty 1965 Buick Special wagon. Should make it very enjoyable to drive! (y)

Best of luck in bringing this wagon to life! :2_thumbs_up_-_anima

    Cheers, Edouard

Congrats, any 64-70 tempest or Lemans Wagon is a rare beast, 65's seemed to have survived better than most years, and 71-72's seem to be easier to find.

That is why I have a 71, I was looking for a 67 but settled for the 71

    Congrates again!!!!

Thanks! I was also thinking of a mod in the future. Plasma cut the roof off of a Buick with the glass portholes and weld it to the Pontiac!!!

    More to come!!!

You may find the Sportwagon/Vista Cruiser roof is very difficult to make fit and look right. They were on an extended wheel base with longer back doors. In terms of wheel base, they were very close to the full-sized cars. The flat roof wagons were quite a bit shorter.

That roof swap would be possible if you took a section out of of the roof over the front seat.:)
There was no Poncho version of the Vista roofed wagon so its wood be unique for sure.
I wonder what Pontiac would have named it??
