NOTE: This is not my car, nor do I know the seller. I'm merely sharing an ad that I found online.

Pics were looking great till we got to the interior. Seller must have handed Otis Campbell the camera then? Red steering wheel with that interior? Price might be a little high in that condition but looks to be a pretty solid car. Wonder what kind of gas mileage that 289 gets versus say a 390?

Based solely on the ad I think he is close on the money though. I am assuming it is a dependable driver.

The body and trim is incredibly staright. I do have to wonder about the floorboards.

The 289 with a standard's mpg could be decent depending on rear end. Mine is an automatic and I have gotten close to 15 without trying TOO hard.

And yep, in 64 the 289 engines were black with orange/red valve covers and air cleaner.

    Thanks for posting

Although I don't own a 64, I think we will agree to dis-agree on the sellers price. DAM it does look straight, that grill is amazing:bowdown:. The rust and being where the wagon is from, and it's patina..based on where it's from, no, not a $6500 car. I can smell the hidden cancer on the other side of the country.

Still IMO, a amazing surviour but not $6500 of Eastern Canadian patina.

Shoot, here I am in Toronto this week and I thought I finally found a '64 wagon within easy driving distance! (Mississauga is just a suburb of Toronto, on the west end.) But turns out the car is in Windsor, a four hour drive. No time to go see it this weekend.

If the car didn't have the rust issues and had a 352 or 390, I might think it would be worth $6,500 ... but from what we've seen from the pictures I think $3,500 might be at the top end.

Roads used to be salted so much in Southern Ontario and Toronto that cars didn't last long, especially in the 60's and 70's. This one is rusting in the typical places for a '64.

You might be right on the un-shown rust (and different price), but I am not sure why a 289 is not attractive to you. I love mine.

Not my cup of tea. Wagon looks like it could be made into something. Outside has promise - it's what's underneath I'd be worried about. No mention in the ad at all about the rest of the wagon being solid.

Also - did anybody else notice the 'Honolulu, Hawaii' front license plate? It kinda looks like a 'Hawaii' car......

My '64 Country Squire had a 352 - and my '66 Mustang had a 289! I just equate the bigger wagons with the bigger V8s, and the 289 and 260 with smaller cars such as the Mustang. Sorry. Brainwashed by the Ford "bigger is better" V8s. :)

Interesting ... and by law in Ontario you have to have both front and rear plates (rear plates only, on this car).

And I can't say I've ever seen any cars in Ontario on the road with this kind of patina - it does look more like a southern U.S. or Arizona car. Importing into Canada from Hawaii would be hugely expensive ... maybe that's why he wants $6,500 ...

She's a beauty, no question. The 289 would be working hard if you were carrying any sort of load in her, so my guess is the mileage is going to be ok but not spectatcular. The unassisted steering and brakes are what really give me pause. That's a lot of car for no power assist. The 3 on the tree makes it, I am guessing, fairly rare. I don't know how many of these wagon came with the 3 speed manual, but I'm guessing not many with the mid-level trim (Galaxy 500).

No doubt that patina is a big turn-off for many and can even scare off a bunch of folks. I'd rather have that ratty old original paint than a $99 Earl Scheib special that needs to be repainted anyway. On a side note, I know it's somewhat common to buy the base model than load it with power options and A/C, but I'm not sure I've seen a mid level stripped of most common add-on's. A different twist I guess.

Ad has recently been edited - price is now $CDN 7,000? Aha, I see - new tires put on car!

The seller has put 15" rims with dog-dish hub caps on the car - I think I'd rather have the original 14" rims and hub caps shown in the other pictures.
