Hi! Just found this site, and wanted to post a couple pics of my '62 Olds wagon. I've had it about five years, but last 3 1/2 have been getting engine rebuilt slowly but surely, and new transmission. Now in A-1 running condition. Will post a few pics here.

I've had a '62 Olds Starfire for many years, and thought it would be neat to have a wagon from the same year.

Will provide more info as time goes along, just wanted to say hey to everyone.

    Mike

Welcome to the madness Mike! Can't ever have too many Mikes on this forum I say. Nice looking wagon, the Fiestas are much admired by many members here including me but seem to be under represented. How is it equipped? Thanks for posting up the :camera:. :Welcome:

Has a 394 Rocket V-8, 2-barrel carburetor, 280 hp, has the power back window in the tailgate, regular AM radio, heater (which now cooks!), the dog-dish hubcaps with beauty rings.

Is as it left the factory at Lansing (er, Ionia) Michigan, Provincial White with the fawn interior, now has 67,000 miles on it, and is a 2-seater.

Here are a few more pics...

Wow, that interior looks like day 1 from dealer! The before/after shot of the engine bay is great, I see you stuck with orig generator and single pot master cylinder, very cool! :camera::camera::camera::camera::camera: for pic rating.

Your car have the roto hydramatic trans? the one they call slim jim? We had a 63 F85 Deluxe wagon when I was a kid, it was green/white roof with rack. 215 4bbl V8, auto, ps, pb, AC, power rear window, AM radio, heater.

Nice wagon. You might be the first 62 full size Olds wagon owner on here. Thanks for sharing the pics. I want to see pics of the Starfire too.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate it! Yes, both the wagon and the Starfire have the Roto HydraMatic 10, infamously known as the "Slim-Jim". Glad to say that in both of the cars, they've been newly rebuilt, so hopefully don't have to worry about that for a looooooong time.

Here's a couple of shots of the Starfire as requested...

:Welcome:starfire. I see you haven't left the building! Great cars. Brings back memories of one of my friends having a 1962 Starfire HT. His was maroon with the silver. Loved that car and how it rode. :yippee:
    Enjoy the forum.

Those transmissions are prone to trouble?
