Hello all, just a quick update on my 62 Pontiac Bonneville wagon. I have been able to get it started after 30 yrs, of sleep. The engine idles very smooth. The power steering works great even with a flat tire up front. The generator works fine also. Transmission drops into gear. Now the bad, I am in the middle of redesigning my brake system, I have not been able to get the rear window down, and the gas tanks has a brown oily like sludge that my fuel pump has been draining for me into a 1 gallon jug. I have included a picture of my boys, I had left the door open while I went to get a drink. When I came back they were ready to go for a ride, I had a heck of a time getting them to believe that we were not going anywhere.
Well glad to see someone making progress on thier wagon because I sure haven't been.I had a target date of October but looks like I will miss it. The boys look right at home in thier
Nice pooches! You have to get some more pics up of that beast, inside and out. Your interiour from what little I can see looks pritty dam good considering how weatherd your wagon was.
They do look a little disappointed that they're weren't going anywhere. Keep us updated on your Bonnie.

Glad to hear it! You're fortunate, as my wagons heart was not going to be kick started after it's long sleep. I'm in the process of a transplant at the moment. Yes, the brakes need some work on these old things. I'll be doing the same. Be sure to post up what you're looking at doing. The rear window? I'm assuming it's a power window. Grab a battery, some wire and a couple clips and climb in the back. Pull the spare tire cover (and tire) and there should be a wire harness running back there with two plugs. The plug with only three wire should be the window. I forget the color combination. Put your hand on the window before you make the final contact so you know if it's trying to go up or down. Help it down with your hand so you can get the gate open and clean/lube up everything. Keep us posted...
The one looking at me is Grant (lemon color) and the other boy is Nixon ( tri color), The wife likes to name all her dogs after old Presidents. It did take a while to get them out of there, but I was not in any hurry, I let them stay inside until they wanted to get out. Teej my no frills Bonneville has a hand crank window, the only options are power steering and power brakes. I found someone with a wagon like yours forsale in Florida, I thought it was yours for a moment. 421, 4spd tri-power.
