Latvia 1906, they married in 1908.... As my Mom told me, this was "courting" back then...we call it dating now. Mothers or the eldest female and one male allways attended and the attending female allways sat between the courting couple. As you can tell there is a large age difference in my Grand Parents but as my Mom told me it was very normal for the times. EDIT.... Must have made for some boring conversation having your Mother Inlaw going on a "date" Left to rite, My Grandfather, My Great Grandmother, My Grandmother, and my Grandmothers Brother.
My grandparents have pictures dating back to the 1800s of family at their house. I wish I lived closer, so I could go through them again. It's been years.
If you can, try to get them from your Grandparents. Nothing like having history of your family. My Sister, my 3 Cousins, and I only have a few pitures priour to My Mom and her sister coming to Canada. I have this one, thats it. My father side, I have no pictures at all. Both my parents grew up in war torn Eastern Europe and lost everything
I have a picture of my grandfather(on my mom's side) when he was a baby. But it's a photo, not on my pc. Also as with Tedy, both my parents are from London, England. Not much stuff made it through the war. But the family did!
My family had so many old photos and slides, (remember them?), but we lost them all in my brother's house fire in 2007. Irreplacable, what a bummer.l
The oldest one I know of is Grandpa showing off his first car. As near as I can tell, it's a 1929 Chevrolet.
