Like I told my wife, its not a project, I'm hording it... so much for the do nuthin day... 8 out of 10kgs.... I think I know the end colour now... I want to knock off the old primer before winter sets it. Soda blows it off a lot quicker than wet sanding and the under paint can get wet sanded in the winter. I dont mind the stock colour but I'll lean it more towards teal ( at least thats my thinking for the day, its bound to change.)
Lono, wierd small world yesterday....you PM'd me about mags and I said "no, I have nothing for sale at the moment on Used Vic" I know they are not what you were after, but none the less look at what I found and took home from the dump yesterday I havn't measured the bolt pattern yet, but the will be on Used Vic shortly after i clean them up. They are presentable drivers, not show wheels.
Glad I'm not building .. just "hording" Funny how a good set of wheels makes a rats nest look cool. I do know now that if a repaint is in its future, I like the original colour just fine. I've been driving it on permits, getting to know its quirks and I wouldn't be afriad to take it on a long haul. I did a compression test and was pleaed to get 145 across the board. The last owner said it was rebuilt but I dont really listen to that kind of story without documentation. I did find a very nice set of vintage Fenton wheels and excellent tires. Yum yum. I still cant get over how good the chrome is. I do hear the call of a dual intake and split Fenton headers...

been so far away from the shop it hurts lately. I did manage to get some fun bling to add to the body. a little Impala bling to brighten up them long quarter panels. I've been talking with a local silver smith about car scripts and thought to myself... " self, wouldnt it be cool to have some new scripts made for the old girl..." sure would be one of a kind.
Lono, you're doing a great job. As I recall, that light blue was a very popular color in 1958, (yes, unfortunately, I can remember back that far)! You're doing a great job. She's looking so much better already. Throw some of that paint on there and you'll definitely have a head turner. I'm not seeing any hint of rust on there, am I right?
She'll get a repaint somewhere down the line. For now I'me trying to spiff it up with a little added nomad trim. Next summer I plan on having it on the road full time. I've been booting around without liscense to get to know it and pretty happy with how its running.
