Ten years later, here's a better idea.

The Travelpod! And, check out the vinyl top on the Country Squire.

Yes, I'm painfully aware but that Pontiac Asscrack is really hard on the eyes. Besides, they were only following in the Ventura hatchback's footsteps:

Never new that the Ventura offered a tent option!

    Tents on Vehicles

Keep these coming. They are very interesting. We've been into old cars of various types and camping for half a century. Saw many tent type setups on cars and wagons. But mostly forgot about them.:2_thumbs_up_-_anima This is our latest project. Not a tent and not a station wagon, but something unusual at 22' long.

Your RV looks like a distant cousin of the Mr. Peanut Hot Rod.

And, you know, if you are having trouble getting to sleep in that lumpy old tent, with the crickets making all that racket, you can just start up the burbling Brookwood...you will be off to slumberland in no time! :rofl2:

Well...you will never see that Travelpod today! Nope.

"GOSH! We have to ban that thing! Those poor little kids could FALL from there"!!

Then we would have the parents that forgot the kids were up there and drive off.:D Imagine your own scenarios with that one. :rofl2:

I just noticed that on the magazine cover, it looks like Mom is serving beer to the little ones out of a long neck bottle.:rofl:

Yep, little Susie is a Pabst Blue Ribbon girl, while Bobby prefers Hamm's. Kids can be so picky. It causes this mom all sorts of problems.

Yea, but you may wake up dead if the exhaust is bad and the carb is set too rich. I like crickets!
:rofl2: So many new laws, rules, and stupid parents. Beer was good for kids back then. I grew up with no problems. Well none I'm gonna mention here! By the way who did win at Daytona in 1970?
