Looks like a cargo carier rather than a ....fighter jet!?!?.....ah, but it is a Saab I wonder if it, like the cars starts every time?
Ya know Fats, I feel the same way about a FORD. Everytime I see one with their hood up on the side of the road(happens more times then with any other brand around here), I slow down and yell out, "You should have bought a GM" and drive away. Yes I am an a-hole like that and damn proud of it If you own a FORD, you have to have 5, One to work on and four for parts. Just look at Rev and Ford Fellow, they own their own FORD junkyards
Ka-Slam!! Bata BOOM! Funny how that works....Best car I have ever owned was a smog gutless 318 1980 Plymouth. I grew up with family having every make under the sun and GM was the most costly. I drove my last Fox Marquis wagon for close to 8 years with NO expence( and or problems) other than the normal oil change etc....in that same time my wife's 99 GM Saffari van has cost me close to 9 Grand in repairs. I have 2 GM wagons now.....I love them both but for a fact they have been "Nickle and Dime" in the standard GM way....
is that the brown one with T-Tops you posted a pic of at one point? i wish they sold those here! for me it has been my fords and jeeps (Pre-Daimler takeover) that have been the most trouble free for me. with the gm exception being my s10 but it had been exceptionally well maintained by the p/o
Yup, thats the car I posted A pic of, but it was black with red velour interiour....I took a pic of a old pic so the colour may not have come out rite. YOU must remember...I was'nt "FAT" back then!
i remember in the 80's most of the car fires i saw were GMs like a rock it only rolls down hill yes i'm a hipocrite.
Come on now. The Renault was Motor Trends 1983 car or the year and a Car & Driver 10 Best http://forums.motortrend.com/70/743...ahoos-ten-worst-award-winning-cars/index.html Car and Driver formally apologizes for naming the Renault Alliance to the 1983 10Best Cars list. For the last 26 years, it’s been gnawing at our collective gut like a shame-induced ulcer. The car was trash. We should have known that back then, and it’s taken us too long to confess our grievous mistake. Let this frank admission be the start of our penance. It’s not the only blemish on our record, and we’re not the only publication to recognize a few stinkers with its highest honor. The history of automotive journalism has seen flaming piles of poo named “Car of the Year” even as they attract product liability lawsuits by the acre-foot and hunks of crud honored as “All-Stars” at the very moment buyers are seeking reimbursement under lemon laws. It’s always a risk making judgments based on the initial exposure to a car, and sometimes a vehicle’s ultimate crappiness only reveals itself with the fullness of time. We’re all subject to hype for something that seems new, different, and maybe even better, and in this business, we all feel the crushing pressure to be timely, amusing, and authoritative. Being wrong is always a risk. Still, here are ten award winners for which somebody needs to apologize.
Now you did it! Remember that VW commercial a few years ago, that 'pimped' Ford Focus that said "THE FLAME" where Helga peels off the F, leaving it to read "THE LAME", slaps it on the kid's shirt and says "You get an F!"? That was the first thing that popped in my mind when you said that, LOL! As for the Renault Alliance? It's French. 'nuff said. Ever work on a French car? You need psychotherapy afterwards, trust me on that. I gave up on 2007-up Sentras when Renault got their fingerprints on them. A sad way for a car to go.
I seem to remember someone telling me that the first F-10s were built for Datsun (Nissan) by Subaru until Nissan had their own front drive transaxle ready for production. That WOULD explain the odd styling, in a day when other Datsuns looked pretty good (510, 240Z...) Edited to ADD: I looked it up, the car was designed by Prince Motors, who called it the Cherry, just before merging with Nissan. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_Cherry
Solved!!! I've had that question in my mind since those F-10's first came out. Didn't look anything like any other Datsun at the time, and it was so ugly that I didn't even like looking at them.......
