No, it is a 1973 Pontiac Astre. It was made in Canada. The body style changed in 1974 and in 1975 , the Astre was introduced to the US Pontiac dealers.

What is the "coolest station wagon"? I would have to say its the one you presently own.

Not currently having a wagon...so maybe not prejudiced much.....would have to say the Chevy Nomad from the 50's was the coolest looking wagon.

What I have or would want, is a mix of what I like and what is practicle and affordable, but the coolest for me are from the space era and this 60 Safari is on the top of my list:

There is no way I could choose THE coolest wagon. There are so many. I love Virgil Exner's designs a LOT. But there are many others that are cool, too. I just love wagons.

The coolest wagon. Wow, that is really hard to say. I'm thinking maybe it was the Vista Cruisers and Sport Wagons with the sky roof. I begged my Dad to get one back then, but he was way too practical to get such a stylish car. We always wound up with full size Fords.

When ever I see about 99% of all station wagons the thought runs through my mind "gosh, I wish I owned one of those". I have an overall love of the wagon genre as a whole. As many as I'd love to own, I'm just lucky I've ended up with what I've got. Unless something significant changes in my life I suspect this is the end game set-up for me. But if just the right deal came by on a ............I'd be compelled to step to the plate just one more time :thumbs2:. I do have 3 extra spots in the garage after all and wouldn't want to be accused of not properly utlizing my space.

Just thinking out ahead my reasoning for the DW. Other suggested compelling excuses much appreciated by the way.

Heck they're all cool, that's what they don't get.

With the extra empty space filled, it will be cheaper to heat. Just like keeping a full refrigerator makes it run more efficiently, right?

My feeble little man brain can wrap itself around that...

Not bad DrCAS. Another one that comes to mind is, hey, after all the slots are filled, then I simply can't buy any more
