Well the Cooga will be on the way to Texas this evening. I got the call from the transporter a couple of hours ago.

It'll be missed but on to other projects.

You know what irks me? The fact that I cannot edit the title....I really meant ON the way to Texas.

After you hit the 'Edit' button, there's another 'Advanced editing' button to hit that wil allow you to fix the title I think.....

McKinney. It was originally sold in the Dallas district when new.

I am always saddened when one of my shiny things goes down the road with new ownership.

Then I get the next one and forget pretty much about the other one excepting when I see it or one like it somewhere.

Not many long term regrets, just a couple.

A moment of silence on behalf of the cougar and you parting ways.......

It is strange seeing your car leave is'nt it? It's even stranger when you see a car you've owned for a long time being driven by some one else.

yeah, my first car is still on the road....its now VERY rusty and filthy, i wanted to wait for the owner to come out so i could say "i put love and care into that jeep...could you at least please wash her!" it was an extremely rare color for the jeep cherokee they only made 2000 of them across 2 model years.

After I had my 1990 Blazer restored, new motor, Transmission repaired, new body panels and of course painted, it was extremely difficult putting the for sale sign on him. But after he was gone it sure didn't take long to bond with my 2001 Jimmy. A young man from town bought him. Sure was strange seeing it around. He added a snow plow and more lights then any little truck should have have! He finally sold it about two years later...I often wonder where it ended up...probably better off not knowing

i think sometimes its best if we not know. at least T knows its going to a collector.

its like my 95 f150, it sold in 2 days on the lot i trader her in at. (why not....a rust free v8 4x4 auto, with ice cold air!) i can only imagine that some roofer got her and she is rusty and all banged up now. but i havent seen her since. and its probably for the best as it would break my heart.

come to find out there is a 383 going in he already has a dana rear in it so i guess it's in better hands than when i first traded it.

Fannie's gonna give me a good cuff, upside the head for this one.

In Mexico, they don't lend their cars, according to a good pal down there. He said to me that everyone knows what'll happen to your lady, if somebody 'borrows' her, but your car.... that's a great unknown.

I doubt that I could sell my wagon. First, the ebrake in the console isn't stock, as in the pedal-type. Second, Manitoba registers cars by the grille. Mine has a Zephyr grille, even though its a Fairmont. 3rd, It was built in Mexico, and I'm not too sure if they'd let me sell it on that score alone.

Well TBird, at least it won't be rolling past your house every day, giving you pangs. You treated her well, and it sounds like the next guy will too.

Naw, I may miss it a bit but after almost 8 years I'm done with it. The new owner will have his fun and someday may even restore it. He already has plans to attend a local cruise night in it later this month. His intention is the same as mine. Maintain it, drive it, enjoy it.:thumbs2: When I bought it I intended on junking it when I was done. Then I got attached. Now it's Robert's turn. He's got five other Mercurys so it is going to a loving home.

I'll bet ya that cowboys felt the same way about their boots, horses and saddles. We love gettin' around, and how we get there.:)
