When I was a kid, we went out once each Christmas season to look at the lights. There's a large neighborhood in the Baldwin Hills area of Los Angeles where each street had a different theme - one street was candy canes, one street 'winter wonderland', one street on toys, etc..... Virtually all the houses got involved and some of the houses were very elaborate with moving props, etc. And this was all back in the late 50's / early 60's..

Anyway, I remember this one house in particular, and I've always wanted to replicate it......

Picture a house with a large picture window in the front. A huge lighted Christmas tree is visible through the window, but you can't see the top of it. Your eye pans upward to 'the rest' of the Christmas tree that is poking up through a uneven hole in the roof......The top part of the tree is lighted and decorated just like the one underneath.

Ha I love it! No outside lights for us this year. Landlord/roommate had a utility bill bee up his @$$. But that won't stop us from decorating our room. :yahoo: It's almost time for us to go scouting for small tree to harvest.
