Hello! I'm restoring a 54 Pontiac Tin Woody. I'm in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. Anybody know of a faux wood painter in the Midwest? ALSO, how hard is it to put the woodgrain option on a plain 66 Country Squire Wagon? Anyplace making reproduction trim/mouldings? Anybody parting one out? Thanks!!!! Dan
Do the wood grain yourself: http://fauxwoodgraining.com/woodievanvid.html I've never found a company that does reproduction wood mouldings; I think you'll have to find one that's been removed or find a wagon that's getting parted out, but I also think a lot of folks have wanted those mouldings so they're probably pretty rare. Good luck!
I don't know if they will do the whole car, but LaFortune Autobody in Peshtigo, WI. did restore the wood trim on my '59 Mercury. There are some photos in this thread. http://ford-mel-engine.com/viewtopic.php?f=84&t=1331
I just saw your post. Take a look at my 52 Chevy tin woody. I just posted some pictures of it in the "Station Wagon Projects" forum. I had the faux paint done here in Brighton MI. by a lady I know. If you like what you see, I can give you her contact info. Her name is Debbie Patton. It will make or break the look of the car.
Major Dan please go to the welcome thread and introduce yourself. Good luck on your woodgrain. You may already have your answers for getting it done. It's not gonna be cheap but will make your wagon really stand out. Also check this thread----1952 Chevy Tin Woody Wagon project
