Here is comparison of the original woodgrain on my 69 Country Squire (an Arizona and Colorado car) with the replacement material offered by Stripeman. http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/gallery/files/5/1/1/0/imag0873_thumb.jpg[/IMG] It seems the original may have faded just a bit... Phil
nice looks good, now, can he change the spacing of the lines, and make them dark brown for my 69- T&C! john
Woodgrain with 44 years of exposure. Here's a shot of the woodgrain from the tailgate area with the fiberglass trim removed. Sure wish the woodgrain looked as good everywhere as the unexposed area! Note: Car is "Candy Apple Red". Phil
Great Car Phil. I drove a 69 Ltd in high school, and had a 429 69 LTD a couple years ago. That is a great car you have, the looks of an LTD in the front with the benefits of a wagon. You have the best of both worlds.
Thanks! Need a wagon, Thanks for the complement! The fun of restoration will begin pretty soon. Lots of work for sure. It's been 32 years since I drove my old 69 LTD Country Squire (also a 429 with the same 3.25 axle ratio). Funny, I remember the old one being quicker. I'll have to take the new one to the drag strip to find out. The newer vehicle at 4480 lbs is lighter by about 350 lbs. Don't know why my original was so heavy at 4830 lbs. It did have AC and 3rd row seating, the new one doesn't. I also had the nodular iron limited slip axle. New vehicle has same ratio but seems smaller or different. The old car ran a 15.67 @89 mph. I'm curious to see what the new one will do (once the engine and trans get a thorough restoration. Phil
