For some time now, I have been chasing a water leak (1987 custom cruiser) that appears to be coming from the area of the base of the windshield/immediately behind the brake booster. With all of the wiring, etc. under the dash, it is very difficult to try and locate the source. Recently, I have found information on the internet that points to some type of drain hose that is located under the plastic leaf basket that extends between the wiper arms, and is under or close to the wiper motor. With this hose clogged, it could lead to my problem. When I got the car last summer, the previous owners had really neglected it. Several hand-fulls of leaves, and even dirt collected in this "basket". This would lead me to believe that if this hose exists, it is probably clogged. Does this hose exist? John

There is a seam there that extends all the way across the car where two panels come together. It's visible just by raising the hood and looking. You can see the seam line. Check carefully to see that it has not deteriorated. It is NOT under the basket.

I'd call a glass guy and have him pull the windshield, as that's usually the trouble spot.

There are multiple seams in the cowl area that can leak. I have chased down a persistent leak into the outer corners of the front footwell with liberal amounts of silicone goop and still have moisture problems. I want to buy new carpet, but not until I get this solved.
Some cars have those little drain tubes, and others do not. I am not familiar with your particular model.
