Another option (assuming you don't have a decent vehicle to tow a car trailer with): U-Haul van big enough to put the vehicle into. All you need to do is find a vehicle-accessible loading dock on both ends.

I saw a Pacer with a 500 cid Caddy engine stuffed into it somewhere by the way. Talk about a full engine bay, lol.

I don't know what you are looking to spend, but you should be able to rent a tow dolly for a local trip for less than $50. Now you just need a truck. Or a 17' truck is only $166, just don't tell them you are putting a car in it. They don't like that.

Wonder where 82cap IS this morning? I hope he is working diligently on a solution to get his free car home.:yup: This guy is so happy and excited about getting that Pacer that it's contagious!:D I'm pulling for him and sure hope he can get the car home at a price he can afford. No matter what the car may be up close and personal, I think it would break his spirit if he couldn't get that car.:D Good luck, cap!(y)
    EDIT:
Is there NO one in his area that could help another car guy in need? It wouldn't take but a portion of one day of your time to help him. I live 11 hours away one way from him or I would be there in a heartbeat. Please...if you live in the area and have the necessary equipment....lend cap a hand. He has offered to pay for your help.

according to uhaul it isnt a reccomended towing setup with a dolly but i find that half of the time the uhaul website is overly cautious.
according to my OM, the bumper hitch is good for 5,000lbs.
    a 3,000lb pacer ...i cant see a tow dolly being 2,000lbs.

but its $44 per day. if you can get one ..i'm free Sunday.

edit: i need to double check my towing cap. supposedly i hear that my trucks has a lower towing cap due to the mazda 5spd tranny

~~ 82 cap......depending on how much you would want i may have to wait until the 6th or the 8th though
