In my experience, it is pretty much a given that, if you attend a car show that is not a station wagon-specific car show and there are any wagons at all, the chances are better than 50% that they'll be mid-'50s Chevy Nomads and the like as they're about the only wagons that have transcended their wagon-ness and are accepted as mainstream collector cars. I was at the Wheels on Fire car show at Brookside Golf Course in Pasadena, California over the weekend. The show advertised that upwards of 200 cars would be in attendance, but when we were there at the height of the show around 12 noon, there were maybe 70 or 80 cars. Not bad, but not 200. Anyway, there were two wagons, and both were...mid-'50s Chevys. The first is a '56 Bel Air Nomad looking very nice and original. The second is a '57 210 also looking pretty good.
More pics would be nice. The 57 seems sharp, but no underhood pic? I wonder with the hood closed if there is something troubling afoot?
