Wife said no more wagons for awhile. :( Well unless we could find a non woody in Dark Cherry, Silver or Black(BLAH!) Has to be a 94-96 if I buy it, I want a LT1 BAD!

Moby, the white 93 is getting stripped down and then hitting the road. I am pulling the motor, tranny, windshield and interior. As well as front bumper, hood, fenders, doors and whatever else I can get off it. I would consider selling it complete if someone was interested. I will work out a figure later. I have an almost complete interior as well, its lighter tan, the 91-92 color, where the 93 is a little darker. OH the seats in the 93 are perfect too. I might wanna keep it to swap over to the 92.

The reason being, its whooped. Rear quarters as pieced together with hack patched and thick bondo to smooth it all out. Spare tire well is hacked together and starting to come apart. Rear diff is shot, it howls like a inheat female cat and from the little bit spinning around this winter(no, not hot rodding, just trying to find traction enuff to move), its thunking like crazy when you let off the gas or apply gas and put into gear.

Well, the wife said she wants a regular old sedan. She is looking at little FWD things and I flat out refuse to put my family in 90% of the new junk. I told her I want a 94-96 Roadmaster sedan or a 94-96 Caprice with an LT1. I would even consider buying a Crown Vic or Gran Marquis with a 4.6. I do not want an older 302 model, only 93 and up, prefer a late 90's and newer to be honest.

So if you guys stumble across anything within the NW PA, NE Ohio or SW NY areas in your craigs list searches, please LMK. Tax return time is coming soon and we are gonna start looking. Prefer $2500 and under. I know its not alot, but its a ton of money to us. I do not mind something that needs paint or has a few dings or rust on parts that can be swapped out. No cars with HUGE wheels, its a sign that some ghetto thug owned it and has whooped the hell out of them or hacked the piss out of them to make then gawdy wheels fit.

Well Blackfoot, no wonder! It's been spinning around in that parking lot forever! Poor thing needs a rest! :rofl2:

But seriously, I am sorry the time has come to put Moby down.

Sounds like you need to work on that small window of opportunity, and find a non-woody LT-1er in one of the allowed colors FAST!

LOL David, thats a clip from a Fed Ex commercial and a Caprice, not Moby, she runs good, but not that good.

I should have never bought her in the first place. The seller made her out to be more then she was and I put a nonrefundable deposit down. When I got there, I was like, ewww. But she runs good and does not leak any fluids. For what I gave for her, she was worth it in parts IMO. I just wish I could have gotten more use out of her then I have. Having garbage winter tires and a rear diff that is ready to explode, driving her is limited in distance and to decent roads where she will not have to spin.

Teddy, I would like to keep her around for a parts car, but I have one place to park her and the only place that I could possibly keep it, it would get picked clean when nobody was looking. My luck, I would get a call from Charlie and have him say someone stole something off it when nobody was home. Charlie hauls scrap metal and junk cars for a living.

I am thinking about contacting this guy. I know it needs some front susp work, but Moby could donate that and I know where there is a fender the same color in good shape at a buddys boneyard.

Ain't this great! New car buyers are trapped in a single year range, and we can shop in a time machine! And then drive it! :thumbs2::biglaugh:

Dang, Scott! I like that pretty red Roadmaster! Jump on that!

It looks to be in very nice shape, and you can fix that little bit of damage easy!
Then, you can cruise down the road with an LT1 and a happy wife!
    Win/win!

I am thinking about it hard. The wife likes the Caprice better then the Roadmaster sedans and I kinda do too. But the caprice is like comparing a Escort to Lincoln Town Car in the forms of luxury and plushness. I love the Buick classiness, but do not care for the rear of the sedans all that much.

I know, it has a front susp issue, he says so in the ad. Does not bother me any, easy fix.

I am considering those as well KK, I am not a big fan of FORD, but I do like the Crown Vics and Grand Marquis.

Blackfoot - I know you have to hate this, I feel the same way about my wagons. IMO you've made some good choices. As much as I hate to admit it, I'm a big fan of the CV & Marquis. Also, believe it or not, the Town Car. These can actually be bought for a little cheaper and generally are not hurt. Any time I need to "adopt" something from the lot for one reason or another thats what I drive. have you considered expanding your search area? I'm not trying to sell you a car but there are plenty of decent mileage vehicles of that type in this area well withing your price range. Also, most of these cars do not have the rust issues. it's probably a 10-12 hour drive from you. I'll check some of the ads here and send you some links. BTW, ever hear of Canadohta Lake, Pa? That's where I grew up - parents still live there.

I am keeping our 92 Roadmaster, atleast until I find a 94-96 to replace her with, we need atleast 1 wagon for the family. Its just the 93 that has to go. Thing about a broader search is, I do not have the extra funds to allow for traveling if the car in question turns out to be something I am not impressed with. I have never been overly fond of FORD products and working as a certified FORD mechanic at a local dealership really put a bad taste in my mouth for their products. I have been looking at CV, GM and TCs however, as I love the looks of them, especially when dressed up with some tasteful wheels. I would love to get my hands on a retired P71 Crown Vic.

I know Canadohta Lake very well, its only 30-40 minutes away from me. Used to go down there and whore around when I was younger, they had dances at the roller rink when I was in highschool. Buddy of mine and I would load up the back of my 79 Fairmont Wagon with beer that we "Borrowed" from his dads bar and throw a party in a field between there and Spartansburg, always had a good 20+ people from the dance show up. At $10 a head, we always had enuff to put back in his dads safe to replace what we took and plenty of pocket change. He never found out and if he did, he never asked us about it. It was a great old road we called Roller Coaster Road, if you were doing about 70 or faster, it felt like you were riding a roller coaster, great time when you are all sh*tfaced.

I used to live across from a Roller Rink at 16 years old, which was right next to a whorehouse, and I drive a 79 Fairmont.:biglaugh: Maybe that's why I love the movie, Paint Your Wagon, and my mother packed me off to study in another town?:biglaugh:

I understand about the travel and having to depend on someone else's opinion. If I can help in any way I would be more than happy to. I have many memories of the roller rink and a carload of beer. Wasn't anything else to do there! LOL I can remember plenty of trips to Cutting so whoever had the fake id could buy some beer! Tell you one thing, I sure don't miss the weather there! I've gotton too used to complaining about how cold it is when the temp hits 40 here.

Hey, hold on, are you talking about Cutting Lanes and General store in Cutting, NY? HAHAHA, Thats the buddy I was talking about. His dad owns the bowling alley and lived above that store. The store is now gone, has been for many years and the building has been leveled. Bowling Alley is still there though. What a small world! Dan Bemis still owns it and his son Patrick(my partner in crime back in the day) runs it for him now.
