Jeremiah - do you have any location info on those pics with 'Stan's Pit BBQ in them? Kind of looks like L.A., but I can't identify the intersection.

Yes, sorry I neglected to grab that. Here's what was with the photo from the source I took it from:
Here we see Sunset Boulevard, in March of 1961, at the intersection of the Boulevard and Highland Ave., which is left-to-right in the photo.

    Thanks!
Here's that intersection today, which is looking westbound down Sunset. I slanted the view looking slightly south, so that you could see the same office building with arched front face, that's in the original photo. The Stan's Pit BBQ is now a Chick-A-Fil. The building you are seeing on the far right side of the intersection (N/W corner) is Hollywood High School. It would have been there at the time of the original photo, just not pictured.

    Getting gas
    -Black Cadillac
    -Ford wagon with wood
    -James Dean Porsche

    EDIT to add:
Wagon is a 1955 Ford Country Squire and owned by Dean and pulling a trailer to haul the race car .... but on the advice of his mechanic he drove it to the races to break in the engine .... crash happened en-route.

Gotta be somewhere in Canada. Parked along the curb are a 1956 Monarch, followed by a 56 Meteor, and behind that, the red and black car is not a Plymouth, but is a 1956 Dodge Mayfair. All models not sold in the U.S. The position of the chrome side trim on the wagon identifies it as a 1956 Ford Ranch wagon, or a 56 Meteor Rideau wagon. Can't tell for sure.

Think it’s a ‘56 Mercury. That looks like “lightning bolt” trim along the side.
