You are right Krash. And I know it too. I think the Brookside named didn't appear until 58.
I guess I just got a little excited...
    Bummer.

'Brookwood' name started in '58. It looks like they substituted 'Yeoman' for the Handyman, and 'Brookwood' for Townsman.

slightly off subject but missed out on a 59 Brookwood back in the early 70's by about 10 minutes. Unusual color green and yellow two tone, looked like original paint. Had made a deal with the owner but had to convince Mom it was a good idea...
I was 17. It was pulling out on the highway as we pulled up. unc

Funny thing is, it looked exactly like Mallon Ford in Tacoma, which was closed when they built a new dealership on I-5 in Lakewood, about five miles south. I saw the pic and thought is was Mallon at first, then realized it said Fallon. But the buildings had exactly the same style, nearly the same layout and the trees look very close to what's in Tacoma. Unfortunately, no pics are available.

Lots of cookie-cutter dealership buildings back then, a lot done by the same architecural (sp?) firms.
That one in Fallon, NV is gone now, replaced by something bigger. Selling Toyotas along with the Fords, too.

But what struck me was the entire pic...not just the cookie-cutter building, but the sidewalk at the building's wall, the parking for the new cars outdoors, the trees in the background (I told my bro Geoff about this and he said that because Fallon is not in the Great Basin, it's chock full of trees) and the multi-laned boulevard with the center turn lane. If I can find one, I'll post up a pic of the old Mallon Ford.

Nope. Nothing but a 1940 architectural drawing of the soon-to-be-new dealership back then.
