Small private show, about 46 cars, in Dearborn. Nice weather and nice group of folks. Several people came and went, but I think I got all the wagons. 89 Pontiac 6000 LE. Custom rear disc brake conversion. Makes me miss the 89 and 90 I used to have. The beautiful 85 Celebrity 4 door is owned by someone I used to talk to on the old Yahoo groups, and met at the Back To The 80s show in Minnesota. 93 (IIRC) Buick Century. Beautiful condition. My 89 Cutlass Cruiser. Out of the 3 A wagons, mine was the only one with a cloth 3rd seat. Mine isn’t even a brougham. Weird how GM optioned things. Early 90s Cavalier. Some rocker rust but overall pretty good condition. I got to meet some cool folks. Like Richard Bennett, who I talked to like 20 years ago. He wrote for Curbside Classic and other things.
Crazy that these things are collectable cars now. I always enjoy seeing folks with similar interests coming together to enjoy them.
Hard to believe that in just 2018, my car was a hard sell at $750. Was listed in March and even by July when I was able to get it, I was the only serious buyer he had. Just a couple $200 ish offers for use as a derby car. In recent years I’ve seen the same cars in similar condition sell for upwards of 5k. Im looking forward to next year and hopefully meeting up with more folks I used to talk to online. They said the show keeps growing every year.
