    does anyone here have experience with one of these old volvo wagons?

    i can't help but i love the ambulance style doors!

    Nope, first time for me. I recall the sedans. Think they ran right up to 1965 or so.

    how are they to actually drive? how fast can they go? reliability?

    In stock theay are pretty miserabel to drive. but with new kingpin bushings, lowering and decent shocks it will go as a truck should. It is after all a design from the 40ies. With a B20 engine and a overdrive trans it will peak in about 100mph with stock gears.
    The B18-B20 volvo engine is like the Blue flame six.. Just cant kill them..

    Looks a little short to be an ambulance. :49: But not bad looking at all,really. :oops: It's good you mentioned the "needed upgrades". They'll be good to know if one ever pops up around here. ;)
