Well I was, decided to make my own. Here is a picture of the part and the mold that I made to make a Part. This part works on 1964-1972 GM A Body wagons and El Caminos. It is the Tailgate Wire Harness Grommet. It Protects the wires going from the body to the tailgate. Now to look at my next project the Seal that goes on the top of the tailgate windows tracks.

Not really high tech, really old school stuff.
I'm fortunate that I have the time and have learned this stuff. It takes a alot of time to make the mold, not too long to mold a part tho. Takes about an hour of actual work time to make each part. As I use up the mat'l I bought for this I'm sure I'll get the time down. If I wanted to really make money on this I'd would of spent more time on the mold and made it for "production" work.

    Pretty cool!(y)

I could of used one of those about a year ago, mine has a few cracks and I know the more I use the tailgate the worse it will get, but that's all I had.
I'm sure more than a few guys could use one right now if they knew they could get it, those take a lot of abuse and I don't think I've ever seen one without some wear.

Einstyn.com Chevelle Wagon Parts, owned by a guy named Pete, is the exclusive supplier of the 68-72 GM A-body tailgate seal and rear window weatherstrip and also has a bunch of other parts.
He's been been working on those tailgate glass run channel ends.
They're molded to the track and he's supposed to have rebuilt tracks with ends available at some time but I don't know when.
That grommet deal is right up his alley, also molds some parts himself, I think he contracts with a weatherstrip place to mold the seals, guess the tooling was pretty expensive from what I've heard.
The rubber parts I really couldn't find are the spoiler and roof rack pads for my Vista, the rubber strips that go under the metal strips on the roof rack are hard to find in good shape and not shrunk up too.
Between Einstyn and the weatherstrip suppliers you can get just about every seal for the 68-72 A-body wagons.
