Someone buy it so I dont have to! lol. At least it didnt see its demise in the cash for clunker! http://tricities.craigslist.org/cto/1355395956.html
It does not meet the eligibility requirement of being 25 years old or newer, therefor, could not have been used in the "cash for clunkers" program.
I've seen quite a few of these box wagons for sale recently - ones that seem to be in pretty good shape (mostly from '86 to '90) Question: I've seen a Buick and an Olds ('88-'90) both advertised with 403 V8's. When did they stop offering the big blocks in these? Also, did Chevy ever offer a big block after '76?
I think they stopped 403's after 79 or 80. The 86-90 GM box wagons had a 307 Oldsmobile V-8 under the hood regardless of the brand. I guess someone could have dropped in a 403 after the 307 died. As for big block Chevrolets the last year would have been 1976 on passenger cars. The 77-90 "box" wagons had a variety of powerplants, from small block chevies,Olds V-8's etc. I worked as a "lot boy" at a used car dealership in 1987 and we had a 78 Pontiac Grand Safari with a 350 Buick V-8 from the factory. I hope that helps some.
I know. Before that, it was only the text - no pic. I asked by email if it was the woodgrain and I think "she" said, "no, it dont have wood on the outside if thats what you mean". Then the pics came up. I then asked what the cash price was... no reply, so not sure whats going on there.
The Olds 403ci is NOT a big block. The term "big block" is reserved for engines with an increased bore spacing over their "small block" counterparts. The 260 through to the 455 Olds motors are all the same bore spacing. The same goes for Pontiac V8 engines.
