Since all of us are car enthusiasts I thought I'd post a question regarding "killer" cars in movies. In the movie "The Car" the car was a creation of Barris and though was made out of a Lincoln if I remember correctly, didn't really resemble any known car. There have been other movies with cars as killers such as "Christine" and "The Wraith" (not too sure about that one, I only saw it once and that was a long time ago). My question though, is what would you consider the best candidate to be a killer car, be it supernatural or with a driver?
Wow - interesting topic. Hadn't thought of that before... Let's see..if I was going to make the movie..... - Size matters - Has to look 'ugly' - Has to have an aura of indestructability Maybe this?
Hands down Christine was the killingest (not a word) car there ever was, I still can't watch the part when the bullies smash her up without cringing. That Death Race 2000 had some cars running people down scenes, the Captain Dracula car or something???
Both versions of the Batmobile - The Lincoln and the Chrysler versions. Saw them both at Hotrod shows back in the 1960s.
Probably something like this. Who would ever suspect the trailer being full of bodies stacked like cord wood?
I don't think it actually killed anyone, but Vandora - AKA "SuperVan" - was equipped with lasers and emitted shrill noises to cause people to go deaf. Another George Barris creation. Full movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EN3W0fk-TBU
Isn't that what the ax is for, choppin up some wood for stackin? There was a TV movie I watched back in 1986, it was called "The Gladiator", a guy in a black Charger(built up from some of the old General Lee's used in the show) that had a pipe front bumper and spikes that came out of the wheels. He drove around and killed people while they were driving. The older brother of one of the victims had a primer grey late 70's 3/4 ton Chevy pickup that he built up with all sorts of battle tools and armor, like a cannon that shot a grappling hook in the bed, Hydraulic rams in front bumper that when he got beside the car, he could engage one of the ends of the bumper that rammed out and caused the Challenger to be knocked sideways. Was a cool low budget movie. They wrecked a green woody 73 Torino in the movie. The full movie on Youtube, worth watching! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yN6deODU0A The Charger Then there is the AWESOME '41 Chevy COE Box truck from Jeepers Creepers, this baby has a hell of a supercharged 388 stroker SBC motor, that sounded mean as hell, she also had a cool but creepy horn and a fitting vanity plate. "BEATNGU" BE-EATING-U 2 Clips of the truck http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7uiQdfppCA&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDbmXloPW9Q&feature=fvwrel
I was hoping someone would mention the COE off of Jeepers Creepers. That thing is scary! On a related note, I was very close to owning that 60 Chevy a couple years back.
