    Hey guys,

It's been a while since I've been on here. So, Ive finally laid out a build I want to do for my 88 Colony park. 306 with a TKO600, and I'm swapping my bronco's D44 axle into the wagon.

    Here are my questions:

*Would it be better to convert the rear to leaf spring, or keep it coil.
I'll be whipping it around in the backroads

*Will I need a custom transmount or are there bolt-on kits

And does a 2wd 90s f150 use a similar long arm travel suspension

I'm not restoring this pos, might as well have some fun. Btw I'll be limited on funds so I'll be pretty much retro fit what I can use to upgrade the suspension.
Found some people to help with the engine and a few shops. Got about $3,000 saved up for the trans and engine

Wow. Go for it. As far as F150 front ends, I assume you mean the 'late' '97 Triton truck suspension, and I'm not sure if it's coil-sprung or torsion bar, same as on the late '90s Exploders. Torsion could be done, but anything with the short-long arm arrangement with coil springs might not be doable, simply for the reason of finding suitable replacements for the steering knuckle when (I'm assuming) you drop the placement of the lower control arm to gain lift. You might want to go look at a late '90s Exploder's front end, as it's mainly for 4WD/AWD, but I think it's also used in the few 2WD Sports out there.

Haha, me neither. After parting out the bronco, it'd just tear me a new one to let the ol hag go.

Has there been a 302 to 351 thread? Didn’t some colony parks have a Windsor?

Yes. I believe there were some Canadian Crown Vic wagons and Colony Parks with the 351. Like up to ‘84-85. When they changed the 302 to injection in ‘86, I think they were all 302’s after that.

The PI CVs had a carbed 351W, but American Panthers with the 351W were just '79-'82. A member on this board has a 351W-powered '81 or ''82 wagon.

Yeah there was an ‘85 Crown Vic wagon on EBay recently that was originally from Canada, and it amazed me how high that car got bid up for a white so so equipt wagon. Wasn’t sure if the 351 was available at that time, but he advertised it as “numbers matching” I have an ‘86 Grand Marquis with the 302, and the time you really wish for more ponies is when you’re headed up a long grade.

351W was available in Canadian wagons until '91. 351W was available in fleet cars only in the U.S. until '91.

Wonder how hard a swap would be? Or how much a Windsor costs these days

The swap is the same as putting in another 302. You just need the 351-specific parts...which I have except for the flexplate, which is AOD-specific, IIRC. And I think the 351 A/C brackets and both multi-rib belts are different lengths.

The timing cover, P/S and alt bracket, and Thermactor pump and brackets are all used on the 351W. The only change is that the alt swing bolt threads into the cylinder head rather than into a nut with arm.
