Hey guys, as most of y'all know I have a 70 Country Squire that I'm working on. I remember seeing a post or comment on here about using a ford truck door seal for the tailgate seal on a wagon. What year ford truck will work?

    Thanks guys!

I Have a similar problem for the {more or less identical) 69 tailgate. I was wondering if rear seals from Ford wagons through the 80s may be available and could be used on earlier wagons like the 69 and 70. Phil

Colony Park tailgate functionality. It opens like a door, but only occasionally will it open down so I can sit on it. I understand the safety that won't allow it if the window is not down all the way, but it is ! I've stared at the mechanism for hours trying to see what is wrong, but to no avail. Anybody? It's a 91 Colony Park. If I can get past this problem, I'll ask about the power lock motor later. THANKS

I would try a heavy dose of wd40 on the hinges and the jambs. Maybe even spray a bit under the handle in the center, the one that makes it open down. It very well may be all it needs. Good luck.

not sure what truck gasket would fit but i'm pretty sure that the moulded corners wont fit. on my chevy when i put it together 13 yrs ago i had too use a generic rubber extrusion that was the same contours but no moulded corners or anything. low aqnd behold at this yrs turkey run Steele rubber now reproduces the exact gasket with the molded corners and everything for around $120. check either restoration specialties or steele for the rubber extrusion by the foot

i used the door seal for a Chevy van on mine...it aint perfect..but it sealed it...mostly:oops:

another one to try is the 67-72 Chevy pick up door seal...it seems to be quite generic
